But Ohio State always has Michigan to look down on them. It’s tougher for OSU to make the “We’re better because we say so and don’t be so stupid to ask why” argument. My personal opinion is Penn State is in a class by itself. The only other school I’d put in its category is UVA.
I lived in Charlottesville for a few years in the mid 80s and attended PSU 89-93
UVA is far more elitist/old money...Penn State is far more middle class, nouveau riche, and conservative...at least that was my impression at the time.
