...[Perry] vowed to "uproot the three branches of government and overhaul government.
"They each have contributed to the demise of America," Perry said. Perry has scheduled an Iowa speech on Tuesday where he plans to lay out details of his overhaul. But he told the activists it will be sweeping and form the basis of the case he will make to activists who will show up for Jan. 3 precinct caucuses.
"The question for Iowans in 50 days is not whether to embrace change, but for Iowans to decide who is the most credible messenger for that change," said Perry. He says one part of his plan will be to change the way the federal courts work, saying he's tired of judges he described as "arrogant."
The Texas Republican said other candidates offer lots of rhetoric on conservative issues, but he has a decade-long record of delivering on them as governor. "Leadership isn't about style, it's about substance, about action," said Perry.
While other candidates tout their anti-abortion views "I signed a budget that defunded Planned Parenthood in Texas," said Perry.
Perry focused much of his fire on President Obama, saying voters have grown weary of the president, but he was not shy about making the case that he would make a better rival than any of his Republican opponents, largely because he aggressively confronts Obama and offers the most dramatic change.
"I'm in this race for the presidency not because of some lifelong ambition, but because the American people are yearning for someone who will tell them the truth," said Perry. "If you want real change, if you want to overhaul business as usual, caucus for me."
I, for one, do not believe the people who got us into this mess can get us out of it,"...

Oh yeah, he forgot an agency that he has probably mentioned 100 times in speeches.
I certainly agree that we need to “uproot” the positions of power in Washington.
Liberals are attracted to positions of unaccountable power like moths to a porchlight. You can’t solve any abuse of power by getting “the right moths” to come to the lights.
You have to break out those lights - rip them out by the wires.
I will wait to see specifics...there still is a thing called the Constitution that needs to be paid attention to.
I like the Constitution which requires three branches of government. Until I see the specifics, I ain’t jumping up and down
“Liberals are attracted to positions of unaccountable power...”
You’re right...and they are attracted to the piles and piles of loot (Read: tax revenue) in DC which they can access, more or less at will, and ALSO with perfect impunity
And his actions belie his stataements. He is not for the fence. He really supported the SPP from Mexico to Canada and he has done nothing to help those of us who did not want Mexican trucks hauling goods in this country.
Any line is a bright line between communism and not communism
I see you’re new on FR — and a very active, extremely avid anti-Perry poster. Your spin-cycle of talking points have been addressed repeatedly. Who is your candidate?
IF you'd rather NOT be pinged FReepmail me.
IF you'd like to be added FReepmail me. Thanks.

Go Perry..Thank you for the thread CW.
SNEAK PEEK AT REMARKS: I do not believe Washington needs a new coat of paint. It needs a complete overhaul. We need to uproot, tear down and rebuild Washington, D.C. and our federal institutions. Ecclesiastes, Chapter 3, says, ‘there is a time to plant and a time to uproot there is a time to tear down and a time to build.’ It is time to tear down the monuments to bureaucratic failure and in their place build a smaller, more efficient federal government that puts the American people first.”
Perrys Uproot and Overhaul Washington plan has a section for each branch:
1) Fundamental Reform of the Legislative Branch: Citizen Congress, Accountability and Transparency Work to establish a part-time, Citizen Congress Cut congressional pay in half and repeal the rules that prevent members of Congress from holding real jobs in their home states and communities.
2) Fundamental Reform of the Judiciary: End Life-time Appointments to the Supreme Court End lifetime appointments of federal judges by instituting an 18-year term limit. This would have to apply prospectively (e.g. not to current Supreme Court judges) and require a Constitutional Amendment.
3) Fundamental Reform of the Executive Branch: Regulatory Reform and Reining in the Federal Bureaucracy Support legislation to automatically sunset federal regulations unless Congress votes to renew them. Work with Congress to dismantle, reform, and restructure wasteful, overbearing, and redundant federal agencies: The Department of Commerce, Department of Education and the Department of Energy would be completely eliminated.
Ambitious....BUMP
I assume that sometime after the speech it will be up on Perry's website...can I suggest you start a thread at that time, with a link to the video..and ping the list..
I certainly will.
I have some errands to run today but I hope to see it out there ASAP.
If you see it first get on it and post away.
Ping to “shield” for the list bump.
"Rick Perry - he aint great, but he'll grow on you" TM
Paid for by the campaign to elect a good old boy crony conservative to the White House.
That’s after he said he could fix the border without a fence—a number of times. Or have you conveniently forgotten that?
Gov Perry has always supported strategic fencing in urban areas where it works, along with drones and many boots on the ground.

As I replied to you before, I do not yet have a candidate to vote for in the primary. I have several who I know I will NEVER vote for.
And thanks for noticing that I am new. It is true I have not been at FR for a long time. I am glad you folks kept it going for others who werent so precient. I am not engaged in the political process. My opinions are no less valid than yours.
