Giffords barely won in 2010. Jesse Kelly, who challenged her then, has filed to run again. I don’t know if Giffords has filed or not. It’s a swing district.

Her district has been without representation for almost a year, but that’s their choice to make. I don’t know if she’s even been able to cast a vote since then.

It’s a touchy situation. Kelly can’t be out there stating the obvious or else he’ll seem heartless.

I don’t see how Giffords campaigns, let along do the job she’s been elected to do. If she wins, it will be via sympathy vote, not a confidence vote.

Maybe her constituents will realize that they’re not being represented adequately and make the decision to retire for her.

The seats still haven’t been redrawn yet to my knowledge.

GOP-controlled AZ unfortunately does it by independent commission. Gov Brewer removed the chairwoman. They have a draft map, I’ve read Republicans don’t like it. The courts will likely decide things.

The situation with Giffords miffs me. She should have resigned.

If she is reelected due to sympathy that would be unfortunate. But if she continued to not show up to work and vote to screw her constituents that would nice. Better a democrat that doesn’t vote than any other democrat.
