"...that view isn't too far off from Muslims freaking out when Mohammed is portrayed as a cartoon. " I am not calling for violence or state interference, rather I am calling those who call themselves Christian to act according to their Lord's revealed will. Christians would so well to "freak out" every time they hear a movie blaspheme, or a coworker use our Lord's name or unique attributes in a manner unfitting for His glory; it has to do with worship and reverence. If Christians won't revere and sanctify the name of the Lord, we have become the world and the light is not in us.

Re:
Hate to be the one to tell ya... but there has already been a jersey with the messiah's name on it--
And the number is 12... not 15.

the most polarizing figure in all of professional sports. "Polarizing" is one of those terms, like "controversial" where the media get to redefine societal norms. A couple of years ago, a belief that (for example) marriage should be between a man and a woman would never be labeled "controversial." Now it is.

We do agree it is bad taste— I would not consider such -and I imagine if Tebow were asked —if he hasn’t been —he would likewise agree it is bad taste. But there is a lot of that going around.I find the jersey less offensive than someone who attempts to use Scripture to oppose the cause of religion—i.e. the atheist who cites the Levitical law against mixing two different types of cloth totally out of context as justification for ignoring Scripture.
