ObamaCare Court Case, Supercommittee Woes Linked

As the deficit supercommittee continued to flail away Monday with its deadline fast approaching, the Supreme Court took up the constitutionality of the 2010 health law's insurance mandate.

The stories dominated national news, but the coverage left out a critical detail: the timing was far from coincidental.

Indeed, it seems likely that the parties will have to come to terms over the fate of the Affordable Care Act (aka ObamaCare) before they'll be able to reach a grand deficit bargain.

Why am I not confident that truth and justice will prevail?

I guess it is because so much evil has triumphed in recent years.

However, I truly believe that if we humble ourselves before Almighty God, and pray for His mercy and blessing, we may still turn our nation around. If we don't, we are headed for destruction much sooner than almost anyone realizes.

From the article:

House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan highlighted this concern after casting his vote against the Simpson-Bowles Fiscal Commission plan. "You're going to accelerate the dumping of people from employer-sponsored health insurance into these exchanges," Ryan said last December. "We're going to expand and blow up a new entitlement."

Obama's entire goal was to take away health care from people who pay for it, and "give away" healh care to those who want it "for free."

If you think things got ugly when Obamacare was passed, just wait and see what happens if it is upheld with an unrecused Justice Kagan casting vote #5.

Truly explosive potential.

Unless the SCOTUS strikes down Obamacare, I am afraid we are on the express highway to socialized medicine.

I’m praying the same prayer.

However, to turn this around, it’s going to be painful for many. We’re not going to trim around the edges of entitlements and tax the “rich” a bit more and cure this problem.

When we get back to Godly principles; parents (not the government) taking responsibility for educating their children, the “poor” cared for through private charities and churches (instead of the government), and stop committing blasphemy by trying to make man perfect on this earth through theraputic authoritarianism (TSA, DEA, BATFE, IRS, EPA, SSI, HUD, HHS, Dept of Ed, etc,), then maybe God will listen.

However, the liklihood of electing folk who are willing to do these things is a fantasy. In order for God to heal our land, it’s going to require an outpouring of his Wrath. Whomever we elect in the next cycle is NOT going to do it via policy.
