You don't need a poll to tell you who's hot on the Republican primary side. Whoever is hot is hit. It's a full-fledged take-'em-out media approach, and the only guy who is immune to this is Mitt Romney. Mitt is not hit. They're saving that up for later. It was Herman Cain, it was Sarah Palin before Herman Cain, and it was Michele Bachmann when she won the Iowa straw poll. They think they've taken Herman Cain out. They're still hitting Herman Cain, and now they've moved on to Newt -- and if somebody comes along and replaces Newt at the top in the polling data you won't need the polling data to know. You'll just have to see who it is the media's decided to take out among our side next.

Whatever job the media didn’t finish w/the TV or print propaganda - they do it in the creation of these polls. From day one they had mitt in the #1 spot.
There's no one that Zero and his media sycophants want to run against more than Romney: he's the typical 'next-in-line' GOP candidate and they know it.
Well, the MSM also does much of the polling. So they fire a barrage, then they poll. It’s kinda like “Bomb Damage Assessment” for them. If they didn’t have the desired effect on target, they just load the guns again. It’s a violation of the “Public Trust”. But hey, they get to make their own rules. Profession my @—!
If Romney was a strong conservative (not Pubbie or Dem-wit) I’d vote for him!

To be fully clear, Rush DID say the media was “waiting” to blast Romney.
How the heck did he get to the front of the good 'ol boy network though? I mean, sure, Bob Dole was around forever, same with John McCain. George W was son of a President. I get them being favored by the party insiders. But Romney? A one term governor of Massachusetts that is the one guy in the whole country who can't run against Obamacare? How did he become the "next in line"? Seriously!
And they have all of the exposes of the Mormon Church ready to go, once Mitt is the nominee.
Better to focus now on taking the Senate, because as far at POTUS goes, it’s over.
But given what they've been able to do to Bachman and Perry and Cain and Gingrich do you really think Romney's the weakest of the candidates?
Do you really think attacks on Romney during the final stretch if he's the nominee will do more harm or lose him more votes than attacks on Perry or Cain or Gingrich would if one of them were the nominee?
Clearly, the stories circulating now will be "old news" after the convention if one of them is nominated, and those about Romney will have more of an impact if he wins the nomination and the media wait until then to attack him, but is Mitt really a weaker candidate than Perry or Cain or Gingrich or Bachman or Santorum?
Is the stuff they have on him really worse than what they've said about the other candidates?

It’s because the media know they can defeat Romney. Romney will guarantee Obama four more years, and that’s what the media wants above all else.

Actually, no. Just Romney getting the nomination will be enough to get conservatives to stay home. By default, Obama wins early in 2012, just like Obama won the presidency in March 2008.
But the media will nuke him anyways, just to make sure.

With respect to Romney, most of it will be all new again. Not seen since 2008. There’s not been one major firestorm around Romney since 3 years ago. The media could easily create one, they just don’t want to.
