U.S. Rep. Jim McGovern has introduced a Constitutional amendment in the House of Representatives to repeal the recent Supreme Court ruling in Citizens United v. the Federal Election Commission.

The amendment would restore the Founding Fathers’ intent to grant rights to people, not corporations, according to McGovern’s office. The legislation, H.J. Res 88, is intended to “clarify the authority of Congress and the States to regulate corporations, limited liability companies or other corporate entities established by the laws of any state, the United States, or any foreign state.”

**SNIP**

“The Citizens United ruling marks the most extreme extension of a corporate rights doctrine, which has eroded our First Amendment and our Constitution. Now is the time for a 28th Amendment that lifts up the promise of American self-government: of, for and by the people.”

“Corporations are not people. They do not breathe. They do not have children. They do not die in war. They are artificial entities which we the people create and, as such, we govern them, not the other way around."

What about unions?

Section 1. We the people who ordain and establish this Constitution intend the rights protected by this Constitution to be the rights of natural persons.

Section 2. The words people, person, or citizen as used in this Constitution do not include corporations, limited liability companies or other corporate entities established by the laws of any State, the United States, or any foreign state, and such corporate entities are subject to such regulation as the people, through their elected State and Federal representatives, deem reasonable and are otherwise consistent with the powers of Congress and the States under this Constitution.

Section 3. Nothing contained herein shall be construed to limit the people's rights of freedom of speech, freedom of the press, free exercise of religion, freedom of association and all such other rights of the people, which rights are inalienable

Liberals want to ban conservative free speech.

This amendment is not going anywhere.

“The amendment would restore the Founding Fathers’ intent to grant rights to people, not corporations, according to McGovern’s office.”

When did the Founding Fathers’ intend to “grant rights” to the people? The Founding Fathers just enumerated the rights people already had as granted by their Creator. And listed the limited power the government was granted by the people.

Only a Marxist asshat(which McGovern is) would believe in a government granting rights to its’ people.

The only way all this shit is going to end is if those 30 or plus states that are against the Obama care law, get together and kick the rest of the states out of the union.

Let the west coast go, the northeast go, and we might have a fair country again.

The government does not “grant” us rights. It only affirms the rights we have by nature.

But Jim McGovern believes everything we have comes from the hand of the state rather than from God.

If you believe that, it makes perfect sense to take from some to give to others.

That by the way, was never the position of the Founding Fathers.
