Yes...the headline is a tad misleading. We have to be careful though, from giving the media any fodder...especially in these times.
I agree with Lauren, word for word. I guess now you take written comments out of context too.

What is “Stu-pid” is reading a headline written by anyone in the liberal media and thinking you have a clue what the facts are based on that headline.
Let me give you a clue: The headline was misleading at best, an out right lie at worst.

I don’t disagree with you here for the most part, but I do think the headline is WAY more than a “tad” misleading.
They intentionally turned Miss Pierce’s statement around on its head and made the headline look as though she meant completely the opposite of what she actually said.
This is a classic liberal news media trick.

But, that is pretty much besides the point. What she did was still 100% stupid. Immature. I don't know if she was trying to be clever, but she stabbed her group in the back, and deserves to be kicked out immediately. Intelligent, mature conservatives don't make insinuations like she did. And it was disgusting. It's disconcerting that there are people on FR think it's a good idea to copy people that were originally lambasted here.

Have you recently been infected with the PC virus? You want to boot someone from their position because they said something that the news media can twist into something else?
Let me give you something to consider:
The way I read her statement, she was ACKNOWLEDGING that there are those who may be tempted to shoot Obama. I say this because of the CONTEXT of the statement: She was responding to someone shooting at the white house- IE someone WAS indeed tempted to shoot the man.
She responded to that acknowledgement by making it clear that this is a bad idea and a bad thing to do.
And yet supposedly clear minded people like yourself say she should be kicked out for it.
This is no different than when they tried to say Hank Williams called Obama Hitler simply because Williams used the the word “Hitler” in his analogy.
It is tempting to shoot Obama for SOME people. Not me, but it IS tempting to some. If it were not, then why did someone just shoot at the white house? Why does the secret service investigate death threats against the POTUS on a regular basis?
Now, if you want, you can ask to have me kicked off FR, because I typed the words “It is tempting to shoot Obama”. Never mind the rest of what I wrote, OK?
So I guess I have to say I agree %100 with what she said, including the part about it not being desirable for Obama to be assassinated. She is right...we need him alive so we can beat him in the election.

Where was there any threat made to the president, in humor or otherwise?
Forget the media spin and read the kid’s words. There is no threat there.
This is just a lot of arm waving over nothing, and I guarantee you that if this were said by a Democrat student’s organization about Bush you wouldn’t hear a peep from the news media.
Would it have been better if it had read,
“All you stupid lefty wackos, as tempting as it may be for you, don’t shoot Obama. We need him to go down in history as the WORST president we’ve EVER had! #2012.”?

Maybe, the left doesn’t want Obozo to go down as the worst president, EVER. So, they might try something. So, we should ask them to contain their urges and let this bozo play (golf) out his one term.
I have always said that Obozo’s biggest threat is from his own base. I stand by that.
I didn’t see a threat in her words. It reads more like a plead to those who might be tempted, not to do it.
The media is twisting her words and we shouldn’t go along with their narrative.

What was she insinuating? I must have missed something.
She is a college student. And from my observations, the average college student these days doesn’t strike me as being what I would call mature. So essentially we are talking about what some kid said.
Also, we have no way of knowing if she is a conservative or not. She is apparently a Republican. But Republican does NOT mean conservative. A common misconception I see on FR all the time is that Republican = Conservative. It just isn’t true in far too many instances.
I agree with her, no matter how much you hate the worthless a hole...dont shoot him.
