It is time to direct our fire on the real enemy of the country Barry Hussein Obama.

One would hope so. Unfortunately, there are a variety of FReepers displaying ignorance and vile hatred towards all the candidates in one form or another.

In the case of this thread concerning Gingrich, they should do some research on his web site. Those who don't are lazy empty suits, content to scream the "BAGGAGE!" mantra.

Limited government is innately less prone to corruption than big government.

Well said, and a fact that is routinely ignored during the overall discussion.

A primary reason that the Framers wanted such a minimal central government was so that it would be less likely to become corrupt or tyrannical regardless of which faction holds political power at any given moment in time.

Doubt many here will find it convincing.

This dudes weak argument for Newt is nothing to be convinced by? He picks and chooses instances of Newts Conservatism and totally misses the last ten years of Newts full on RINOism. Apparently he didn't read this gem that he wrote that would make one think Algore was the ghost writer.

Do your research. Ron Paul invented tea party on 12/16/07, the 2009 version is different, but not that different than the Ron Paul 12/16/07.

There is a lot of video of what looks a lot like the tea party on 12/16/07.

If you didn’t want to be affiliated with Ron Paul’s Tea Party, you could’ve picked a different name. But you didn’t. You picked Tea Party. And there’s all this footage of tea party events all over the place.

I’d like to see Rand Paul at Faneuil Hall on 12/16/11. The 4th Aniversary. “4 years ago I stood here an said this was going to be big” “this thing is big. this thing is really huge” and he was talking about what exactly? at the first tea party rally. Who was one of the first tea party senators elected.

Newt picked Dede.

Is it better to say

“Newt cheated on and divorced his first wife when she got sick.”

“Newt cheated on and divorced his second wife when she got sick.”

or

“BAGGAGE!”

There won’t be a choice between Mitt and Newt, because the tea party won’t find either of those 2 acceptable. So, there will be a tea party candidate who is not Mitt or Newt.

Nick...you are misrepresenting what Newt stated by using a sound bite... post the entire statement and let folks determine their own take on it.

In fact I’ll help you out and post it myself:

Newt...”I don’t think right-wing social engineering is any more desirable than left-wing social engineering. I don’t think imposing radical change from the right or the left is a very good way for a free society to operate. I think we need a national conversation to get to a better Medicare system with more choices for seniors.”

Speaker Gingrich later clarified his comments and said that he would have voted for the Ryan Budget Plan had he still been in congress.

Im still bitter about the sofa with Pelosi thing

So is Newt...Newt admitted that sitting on a couch with Pelosi was the dumbest thing he’s done in the last few years. The problem it’s caused him is that people thing he’s now for Cap and Trade which is absolutely not true.

Here you are again relaying falsehoods against Newt.
So to correct these:

1. His daughter has already and previously stated Newt did not abandone his wife....Newt’s wife requested a divorce months before her cancer ordeal, also he not only visited her but he took his daughters many times to visit her. And further that it was an entire media spin about those visits with no truth to it whatsoever.

2. Gingrich is a conservative on many, many issues. Out of this entire field, he is a conservative fiscally and socially and believes in the VAST majority of the changes that us “Tea Partiers” want to have changed and is smart enough to bring some solutions. AND beat Obama in a debate.

Done.

Sorry truth but the Tea Party is already reaching out to Newt...just a couple as examples follow:

Billie Tucker, head of the First Coast Tea Party....

“He has not reached out to us, and we have reached out to him..... to give him an opportunity to meet with our tea party. said Tucker, whose group boasts 10,000 members.......
“He has shown himself to be the most well-informed on how politics works. .....And he has an ‘attitude’ — which we tend to like. Attitude means saying it like it is and not holding back.”

Jesse Phillips, on the steering committee for the Tea Party Network, a coalition of 70 tea groups around Florida

“I really like Newt. ... I think his experience, knowledge of the issues, consistently conservative stances and ability to debate and articulate conservatism is very appealing.”

Nope your wrong....better listen up!......

“Newt says that he told F@F that the housing market was a bubble that was about to burst..... He told them that they were making a mistake handing out loans to people who couldn’t afford them...... Newt says he told them what they were doing wrong and what they needed to fix it and he did get his consultancy fee for it. If all that’s true it’s a shame they didn’t listen to him...... Doesn’t matter what they paid him; it was good advice. Certainly better advice than what they’ve gotten from their own wildly overpaid executives. Certainly better advice than they’ve gotten from Obama..... The Fanny and Freddy stuff?... Newt has answered for the Fannie and Freddie stuff. ....(Rush Limbaugh)

It’s better not to repeat misleading information or carry the liberal/democrate talking points which they’re spinning...again. Even using liberal vocabulary should deter you from using their spin and tactics of character assissination.

So the facts are:

- Newt’s wife got sick months after she asked him for a divorce. He and his children visited her often...he did not abandon her as the media stated.

I will continually believe that minus true rhinos like Romney and McCain, the people that attack genuine conservatives are no friend to conservatism.

It’s folks that think their brand of conservatism will do anything put choke off any practical way to keep it alive. Conservatism is a culture and we’re only one or two judges and one or two terms away from being a minority of that. So in order to leave an impression to last a few generations, we have to control the courts.

Reagan appointed the judge that upheld Obama’s healthcare...so we can’t hope that every judge will be perfect, but we can be sure that we need to have someone trustworthy picking them. I trust Newt, Cain, Perry, et al (except Romney...and DEFINITELY not Obama!).

Except that when Newt was pushing for individual health care mandates (as he is now) Cain was going toe to toe with bill Clinton. Interesting, huh?

He asked her, not the other way around.

He did discuss details in the hospital.

The first wife that Newt divorced did not die. So “deathbed”, which some have said, is wrong. She was sick in the hospital. Getting a tumor removed. Newt was discussing the divorce with her in the hospital.

Why is it “better not ...” Newt’s been keeping himself out of the top tier on purpose, and popped up about a month and a half too early.

Anyway, we’ll have plenty of time to talk about all of Newt’s adulteries and all of Newt’s divorces.

I’ll read links, but I’m not interested in reading “facts” from Newt’s supporters who weren’t there a month ago.

Didn’t see you on any threads where people where saying Newt’s dead, and I was saying we’re gonna have to play whack a mole with that RINO.

I’ll read links though.

http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1009/28730.html

In a video captured last week and posted on YouTube Friday, Gingrich told tea party organizer Lisa Miller at a book-signing event that conservatives are inadvertently hindering the cause by backing Conservative Party nominee Doug Hoffman over Dede Scozzafava, the Republican Party’s nominee.

Right, divorcing and cheating on all those sick wives is turning out to be a political liability after all.

Anyway, we have a lot of days. Days upon days upon days to really get to the bottom of the story. I’ll have my links, you’ll have your links, and after talking about the minute details of his various adulteries and divorces, I’m sure that Newt will come out either ahead or not ahead.

You can argue with me or someone else about all the RINO positions he’s taken over the years.

This should be fun.
