Countering China, Obama Asserts US A Pacific Power

CANBERRA, Australia (AP) — Signaling a determination to counter a rising China, President Barack Obama vowed Thursday to expand U.S. influence in the Asia-Pacific region and "project power and deter threats to peace" in that part of the world even as he reduces defense spending and winds down two wars.

The US has done the job of keeping peace in the Pacific rim since 1945. If there's ever been a CiC who understands the importance of a rim job, it's certainly Obama.

The truth simply is not in this man. I have never before heard anyone was able to string lie after lie after lie together and not miss a beat.

A couple of days ago, he was going on and on about how Iran is now being held in check since he took office. He bragged about how we now have Russia and China working with us to make sure Iran doesn't get a nuke. I'm thinking to myself how Russia built the reactor they are using to make the nuke and how China is selling them the missiles they will use to drop that nuke on Tel Aviv. Neither of these was happening when Bush was in office, but since Obama came to power, Russia and China have figured out that they can do whatever they want, and the US won't do anything to stop them. Yet here's Obama telling the world how much more effective his Iran policy is than his predecessor's.
