As a former race car driver (I set a class record at the IHRA Bonneville Track in 1981) let me tell you: 200 mph is fast!

At 140 mph I could barely make out the telephone poles racing past me as I headed down the track. Back then I raced Chevy’s but I have given up on the new ones since GM became Government Motors.

I’ve done over 145 in a Supra Turbo on a highway. That was super fast. So 200 has to such a great rush.

You did it on a track. my experience was on a Hwy that the speed limit was only 55. When I dropped down to 55, felt I could get out of the car and walk.

Congratulations on the record!

I believe that! You can’t turn your head fast enough to catch a NASCAR race car fly by you when you’re next to the track at Daytona!

That’s Crazy Speed!

It takes someone special to be able just to calculate shifting and steering at that speed. I’ve had my 911 up to around 130 and, although I could tell she had a lot more to give, I wasn’t comfortable at all and backed off quickly. (it was legal, at Texas Motor Speedway for club event).

Question please to a professional..........why does Ford insist on building hot cars, like the Mustang, with a straight rear axle instead of independent suspension?
