In an interview Thursday morning, Defense Minister Ehud Barak sounded somewhat more pessimistic on the likelihood that the international community could stop Iran's nuclear program with sanctions than he did in an interview on American TV a day earlier. Speaking on Israel Radio, Barak said that although Israel was trying to convince members of the international community to economically isolate Iran, he did not think that effort would work. Despite his pessimism, he said, Israel needed to continue working through diplomatic channels and avoid the alternative.
On Wednesday, Barak had told American interviewer Charlie Rose that it was in the international community's interests to stop Iran's nuclear program, because if Iran acquired the bomb it would prompt a major arms race in the Middle East, with Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states pursuing their own nuclear programs. And, he said, if the international community did push Iran, he believed they could convince Tehran of the wisdom of backing down.
Despite his preference for sanctions, Barak reiterated that all options are on the table. I was the first to coin this phrase, and I am happy to know that nowadays we are hearing it from leaders in the West. Barak said that Israel could not come across as being afraid to take on Iran militarily. We must make clear to the world that we understand the situation and are ready to deal with it, and that this is a challenge not just for us, but for the whole world.
Barak added that he had met recently with foreign ministers from around the world in order to emphasize the importance of dealing with the issue and using sanctions to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

A bit late for that, Ehud. You come off wimpy, so resign.
Oh NO, too late!
More speeches by Barky... that’s what the world needs!
I get the feeling that picture wasn’t Photoshopped.
There. After how many years? I have the grand amount of two compliments for the president. That's two more than I thought I had. lol. And those two were just because Carter was a complete panty wipe.
This never took place and I hope all parties sue this company. Refuse to use their name to make their marketing tactic work for them. This is disgusting.
I want everyone to see Obama as the figure he naturally projects.
Ehud Barak went wimpy on dividing Israel. Maybe he woke up to reality on Iran? Well it is very late in the game. Very late.
Then you will need to step down fukk face.
F U B O
Wrong Barak. Read the story. It’s about Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak, not Present Barak Hussein Obama.
Ehud, our DM, not your POTUS
That’s nice, but the story’s about Ehud, not BHO, as I took pains to make clear from the getgo.
” the best comment was the one made by Meretz MK Ilan Gilon. I don’t understand Ehud Barak, he said. He says that if he was a Palestinian he would join Hamas and if he was Iranian he would develop nuclear weapons. It’s a good thing he’s not Israeli, because then he would want to be Defense Minister, Gilaon said.”
Even better now I have only one reason to compliment Barack. lol. As far as you taking great steps at making it clear about Ehud. I am sure you were more than effective here. I just took one glance and wrote. Explains the gonads displayed in the title. I was confused as that is not something I would associate with Barack. Ehud? Yes.
So who would be a good replacement for Ehud Barak (never noticed before the parallel in the names.)
Ooops... thought it was the kenyan usurper.
Oopsie. I should have read the article. Somehow the word "wimpy" and the name "Barak" made me think of the wrong one. I hope Barak will get this right - the odds are MUCH better than with Barack.
It’s singularly hard to tell them apart. Ehud Barak bullies mitnahalim (”settlers”) to please Arabs who, despite all the bulldozing, still hate him for being a Jooo! and despise him for buying their “land for piece” line and for not bulldozing more houses. Barak Hussein Obama bullies Ehud Barak and Bibi to please Arabs who, despite all the concessions he demands of them, still hate him for being an American, and despise him for buying their “two-nations, two-states” bigoted bromide, and for not demanding even more concessions. So I can understand the confusion. What’s in a name? A skunk by any other name would smell as much.
Too late Barry. By extending an unasked for hand of friendship all over the middle east, bowing to other leaders (yes it really was a big deal), and announcing abrupt unilateral draw downs in Iraq and Afghanistan, your whimpiness is already cemented in place.
I’d say Ketzele from Ihud Leumi, or that fellow, the Deputy PM or FM, I forget which, who made the great video about Judah and Samaria setting the record straight. More informed people might know of others, but those two are my top choices.
If youd like to be on or off, please FR mail me.
Somehow Barak and wimpy only works with our Barak, not Israel's
