One important factoid which the Dems must be terrified about is that the GOP candidate will not take public funding this time around.

Obama had around $750 Million to McCain's $8 Million or so last time around...a 10 to 1 advantage.

The candidates will have a level playing field this time around. Obama could be toast based on this alone.

Conservatives have deeper pockets? I don’t think so. The Koch brothers are famous because they are exceptional. Most billionaires are libs.

The Tea Party conservatives got their money in the last election from millions of small donors who couldn’t stand what was happening to their country.

On the open secrets list Koch industries still gave 9% to democrats which is a hell of a lot more even handed than unions which seem to give about %1 to republicans on average.

The Democratic Party's wealthiest donors, mindful of the overwhelming cash advantage conservative groups have in next year's elections, gather behind closed doors in Washington this week to make plans for dealing with the coming "tsunami" of right-leaning money and electoral enthusiasm.

What overwhelming cash advantage are they talking about? In every election since 2004, Democrats have had an overwhelming advantage both in cash and in kind donations. In the Ohio ballot initiative, the left had a 10 - 1 advantage. In Colorado, wealthy Democrat donors have no counterpart on the right.
