Scandals captivate our attention as sensational headlines punctuate the mundane din of modern life. Whether the manufactured: Herman Cain’s seemingly spurious charges; the incompetent: Fast and Furious’ deathly fallout; or the typical: Solyndra’s cronyism – each highlights power abused. Such corruption has become so pervasive, that movements from the Tea Party to Occupy Wall Street sprang to protest a perverted system.
Jeremiah warned that man’s heart is deceitful, something the Founders well understood. James Madison fathered a Constitution which incorporated this eternal wisdom, explaining that men not being angels, “In framing a government which is to be administered by men over men, the great difficulty lies in this: you must first enable the government to control the governed; and in the next place oblige it to control itself.” (Federalist 51)
The Constitution dispersed authorities by assorted checks and balances between both branches of government and levels of government. Control was deliberately left disjointed to lessen the temptation of aggrandizing special interests over the “general welfare.” When wielding the instruments of power, the natural inclination is to increase one’s sphere. By constitutionally diffusing its sources and machinery, power was partly neutralized.

Interesting article. It strikes me that CEOs of the corporations mentioned are the mirror image of politicians.
Especially now since the lines between government and business are getting more blurred with each passing day.
the libs hate big business, we hate big government.............
One of the misconceptions of popular culture is that Big Business is capitalist and Republican. Few CEOs eschew government handouts or favorable regulations on principle. Big Business and Government are joined at the hip.
