Gingrich think tank collected millions from health-care industry ($37 million & MANDATE)

A think tank founded by GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich collected at least $37 million over the past eight years from major health-care companies and industry groups, offering special access to the former House speaker and other perks, according to records and interviews.

The Center for Health Transformation, which opened in 2003, brought in dues of as much as $200,000 per year from insurers and other health-care firms, offering some of them “access to Newt Gingrich” and “direct Newt interaction,” according to promotional materials. The biggest funders, including firms such as AstraZeneca, Blue Cross Blue Shield and Novo Nordisk, were also eligible to receive discounts on “products and workshops” from other Gingrich groups.

The health center advocated, among other things, requiring that “anyone who earns more than $50,000 a year must purchase health insurance or post a bond,” a type of insurance mandate that has since become anathema to conservatives.

Photobucket But it doesn't matter. I really think there are more trolls on FR right now than authentic conservative FReepers.

You have a problem with the facts in the links he's posted? Guess what, there are more links he hasn't included like these:

Starting way back in 1979 he voted for one of the worst ideas of Jimmy Carter.

September 27, 1979 - Newt was one of 30 Republicans who voted to create the Department of Education under President Carter. Why would any Republican who believes in a limited federal government vote to create a national Department of Education? If only Newt and 7 other Republicans had voted NO, perhaps we wouldn't have a Department of Education? Interesting note: there were more Democrats voting NO than Republicans voting YES.

House Vote #468 (Sep 27, 1979)

Reminder: Newt Gingrich Teamed Up With Hillary Clinton, Wanted Government MANDATED Health Care

Gingrich on video from 7:00 to 25:07 - Overall immigration to make it as inexpensive and easy as possible. Goal as president to have all illegals in the country now be American citizens within 5 to 10 years. <

In June 2011 Debate Newt Gingrich called Americans Heartless for deporting 20 million illegals.

"GINGRICH: No, but let me say this, John. No serious citizen who's concerned about solving this problem should get trapped into a yes/no answer in which you're either for totally selling out protecting America or you're for totally kicking out 20 million people in a heartless way. There are -- there are humane, practical steps to solve this problem, if we can get the politicians and the news media to just deal with it honestly."

"In 1994, Newt Gingrich described himself as a fan of the ideas espoused in the book, The Third Wave by Alvin Toffler, in which homosexuality, promiscuity, adultery, divorce, and abortion are all viewed as perfectly normal and even desirable. He said that in order to understand him, you should read the book, The Third Wave by Toffler. This book is written from the perspective of someone who is writing a letter to America’s Founding Fathers, in which he describes the Constitution and the principles of limited government that guided our Founding Fathers as becoming increasing irrelevant, and obsolete, and hence in need of being radically redesigned and replaced!....When Newt Gingrich became the Speaker of the House in 1994, he recommended The Third Wave as required reading for all of his Congressional colleagues!"

Believe me there is more there than this. He's buffaloed a whole lot of people but the fact is his record is out there for us to examine.

Please.... Obama2? Surely you must be kidding. Is Newt a Marxist, Kenyan, homo, Muslim. NOBODY that is running is WORSE than Obongo. NOBODY!!!!!!!!! What don’t you get about demented, hate filled, pathological narcissist that is out to destroy this country? Is that what you think Gingrich wants to do? I just can’t stand PR right now. I bet the Dems just love FR. Send in their trolls to help the real FReepers eat their own. THERE IS NO PERFECT CANDIDATE!!! Sarah said, “Anyone but Obama” and I agree. I guarantee you we are going to get that POS for 4 more years, the country will be destroyed and I don’t want to hear any pissing and moaning when it happens. ANYBODY BUT OBAMA. Granted some are not as conservative as we want them to be but there is only one alternative and it is 1000 times worse unless you are liking what you have seen the past 3 years.

I seem to remember Newt campaigned against government healthcare at the time. He hated everything about Hillarycare.

Axelrod is very efficient at infiltrating and bombarding the internet. It worked in 2008 and it will work again, and FReepers are more than willing to tag right along and eat their own.

not use who you are on about but I support all of them except Huntsman, Paul and Romney.

Infact I have never done an attack on any of them.

I leave the attacks against our side to the left, liberals, homo’s, media and others.
We sure as hell don’t need to attack our own regardless of who we support.

Infact IMHO it is pathetic that a person sees their man going down and then feels they have to attack the man or woman going up.

I agree that there is no perfect candidate. I wish that Sarah had chosen to run, but that is water under the bridge. I thought that Perry had potential, but found that he does not. I presently support Cain, with Newt and Bachmann next in line.

Imho, Romney and Paul have no chance of winning, thank goodness.

Once we have a nominee I hope that we can all come together to defeat Obama.

Yes there are, and I've only listed the most recent ones, which have been discussed extensively here at FR.

I guess vetting is only for everyone else EXCEPT Newt.

From what I've seen, there are a whole bunch of folks around here who have suddenly forgotten about being Conservative.

Republicans first, Conservatives distant second.

While we are in the “truth disclosure mode”, who do you support for president in 2012? I support Gingrich or Cain but would vote for Romney as a last resort. The goal is to defeat Obama! However, I KNOW, Romney is not the one to do it. Ron Paul NEVER will be the nominee. Bachmann has dropped off the edge of sanity and Perry - No way. Huntsman and Santorum are taking up space.

None of the above---I'm writing in Sarah Palin's name and will sleep soundly that night with a clear conscience. No more "holding noses" and voting for "lesser evils."
