Bachmann: "I haven't had a gaffe"

Michele Bachmann, making the case on Fox News that she's the safest candidate in a rather jaw-dropping statement.

BACHMANN: I haven't had a gaffe or something that I've done that has caused me to fall in the polls.

People see in me someone who's genuinely a social conservative, a fiscal conservative, a national security conservative and a Tea Partier. I'm the whole package.

And when it comes to the best Republican who take on Barack Obama and not have any clunker in my record to be able to take him on, it's me. And I've been involved as a private citizen for 50 years, and for the last five years, I've been in the lion's den in Washington, D.C. And so I have a record that I'm very proud of, and I'm happy to take him on in the debates to hold him accountable for what he's done to the economy and the country and our national security while he's been in office.

VAN SUSTEREN: So you're talking about clunker -- you mean the allegations -- underline allegations, no proof of Mr. Herman Cain that there were two women who said that they were sexually harassed, and you had the Governor Perry's unfortunate 53-second gaffe at the -- one of the debates -- is that the clunker that brings people down?

I haven’t watched one Republican debate.

I thought I was the only one who hadn't.

“When you take the 9-9-9 plan and you turn it upside won, the devil is in the details,"
~Michele Bachmann

Comparing Herman Cain's 999 plan to 666, or the devil certainly didn't help her.

She was riding high in the polls after winning the Ames Straw Poll, and now she’s fighting Santorum and Huntsman to stay off the bottom. I wonder what it would take for her to admit she’s “dropped?”

I really like Michele Bachmann and there is no doubt about her conservative credentials but I sure wish she would have slapped down the idea that the accusations against Cain and Perry’s little brain freeze were anything but trivial matters.

Even her “Patty Duke” hair makes people question what she’s really all about. Lately, she has her hair up more often, but “Patty Duke hair” returns, every now and then. Also, she’s behaving just like Rick Santorum with her, “I’m the only one here out of all of the Presidential candidates who...”, on many issues, which is very annoying.

Some will say the “6-6-6” was but it sure didn’t bother me. I thought it was funny.

I didn't think it was funny. A conservative saying anything that helps Mitt Romney isn't funny at all.

Hilarious.

So there is something substantive behind her fall in the polls? Is that what she is saying?

She a real conservative and smart as h$ll.

No, she's not. Not really. She buys some poor lady's story about her TEENAGE daughter becoming mentally retarded via a vaccination? That may not be a gaffe, but sure was idiotic. As for true gaffes, that only the current VP can compete against, what about when she gave a whole speech in New Hampshire citing "the shot heard 'round the world" which happened to be down in Taxachusetts? Or that whole John Wayne vs. John Wayne Gacy thing?

Those were classic gaffes. I'd also submit "I'll lower gas to $2 a gallon" (or whatever it was) as a part of her platform. That reminded me of an 8th grader promising longer recess if elected class president.

I like Bachmann and I think that she is a conservative, but she’s not going to gain momentum if she doesn’t relax a little and develop a sense of humour about herself. It may already be too late, but even if it is, she still has a shot at the VP slot. She’s a fighter, which I admire.

The good ol’ boys don’t like her.. because she not a “boy”..
But they agree with her mostly..

Thats why Newt, Perry and Cain are mimicing her “destroy” the scope of the federal government meme like a Vegas Ventriloquist...

She been saying it from the git go..
The good old boys may “mean it” maybe not.. trust them at your own risk..
Remember Bush devolved into a slobbering drooling mess at the end.. a tool of democrats..

I’d hit it, but not when she has her hair up.

She’s pretty scary that way. It may be the ears.

Totally disagree. Even if she has no chance of winning she is an eloquent spokeswoman for conservative ideas.

Not to mention, she NEVER criticizes Romney, only conservatives.

Is that right?

That picture is very disrespectful. If there is one type of post that should be refrained from, it’s insulting images of graphic innuendo targeted at conservatives.

If I wanted to see posts like that I’d be looking at far-left websites.
