His adherence to the Constitution is enough for me. A Constitutional approach to the size and scope of government economic policy, foreign policy, etc, etc. No other candidate is as consistently conservative.

The U.S. Government, employs millions of bureaucrats, making them part of the biggest employer in the country. Lots of them don't like him. They have a stake in this. Or is it a conflict?

A solid majority of local, state, and federal employees are democrats, and they like big government (no surprise there). Yes, they have a vested interest in continuing the growth of governement, and of course they don't like Ron Paul or anyone else who advocates for making government smaller.

The conflict arrises when any of these bureaucrats have power over the election process.
