It defies any semblance of reason or logic. They openly admit that this is the worst economy since the Great Depression as gauged by the time it is taking for us to enter a period of recovery. As the article points out, it has been 47 months now, and we still have double-digit underemployment. FDR's New Deal II would drive unemployment above 20% in 1938 - almost a decade after the 1929 crash. Yet these leftists can't seem to grasp the fact that the policies of these two men are what caused that recovery to be unnecessarily delayed.
The biggest lesson to be learned from the Great Depression is this - without exception, every single policy that FDR enacted failed miserably at jumpstarting a recovery. From January 1933 until Dec 7, 1941 marked an era of epic fail for the same policies that are being enacted now.
