What a story for the young man to tell his freinds.

Good thing he wasn’t the big kitty’s dinner.

Does anybody remember when killing a threat including a predator animal was okay?
I used to live in the foothills in Colorado and we had a problen with a mountian lion and the Game and Fish Dept. told me even though I had small children I could not kill it! The mountian lion was more important than my children!
The lion lost!
Tree huggers and preditor lovers beware I have a compound bow you can’t hear!

Mountain lions are known to roam over wide areas. One mountain lion tagged in the Colorado Rockies was found less than a year later in south central Nebraska.

Officials say he was hunting a shelterbelt in Knox County ...

What kind of game animal is a "shelterbelt"?

It may just be me... but have mountain lions been in the news a lot lately or what?! It seems like I am reading about human-mountain lion incidents a lot more now than I have ever read. In fact, I recently read of one being spotted on I450 near the Conneticut Avenue exit in Maryland. That shocked me and many of my neighbors. I don’t have any idea about the laws concerning mountain lions in Maryland... if one is in my yard, it is SSS.

I have a co-worker who is from Omaha. He said years ago a cougar was spotted running down the main artery inside the city limits. Cougars have now been spotted not from where I live in western Wisconsin. There are regular bear colonies now in western Wisconsin, and it’s only a matter of time before a cougar gets itself killed... shot or run over. Still waiting on reports of a Wisconsin hogzilla. There’s loads of wild pigs running loose in the counties south of mine, but I haven’t seen any or heard reports of any wild pigs in my county, La Crosse.
