Sounds like something out of a Dale Brown novel.

It’s not crazy at all. When you’re trying to move cattle towards your objectives, there’s no better way than fear to stampede them.
Putin needs the military’s support which means spending scarce money on hardware and personnel to ensure his lifelong tenancy. Nothing is more convenient than a boogeyman to wrangle that money.

I’m fairly certain the Israelis would have no problem with U.S. flyovers of their territory.

I’m surprised that no one has seen that the fact that Russian ships are in Syrian waters is win/win PR gleaned after they received bilateral information from the US that we are not intervening.
Probably 100% through the reset button of the Obama/Hillary state department.
Russia would never put it’s Naval assets at risk from the military might of the U.S. Navy.
It’s a great PR victory for them at no risk whatsoever.

Apparently Putin has vowed not to turn Syria into a Bosnian style campaign.

We should have taken out Assad when we had a huge army in Iraq and owned the area. Tremendous missed opportunity. OK now I'm confused. It seems like half of Freepers want to see Abbas out, but the other half don't (because Obama's president?)

More result of Obama and NATO taking a no fly, humanitarian protection, UN resolution and turning it into a full scale war in Libya.

Would be funny if it weren’t so tragic.
“Duty to protect” There never has been a bigger crock of sh*t than that. Lol
Obama and NATO:
We are going to protect those civilians dammit! Even if we have to kill every last one of them!
Off topic I know, but that whole thing was absurd in the extreme.

"Im fairly certain the Israelis would have no problem with U.S. flyovers of their territory."
But could Israel trust Obama? What a cover the supposed overflight would be for a US attack on Dimona.

Given the illegal acts just pulled in Libya by NATO, if would seem the Russian's have been educated. Send a thank you note to Hillary.

Don't talk silly, the Russians take people back and forth to the space station. NATO will not get within miles of those ships.

Try reading what I said again. I said that NATO wouldn't attack Russian ships.

NATO won't attack Russian ships. No need to attack them. Just move in, ignoring them and do the job. Call their bluff, IOW. Force them to decide whether or not to attack NATO ships. My money's on NOT.

This has to be a stress on their navy. How many operational ships are left in the Black Sea Fleet anyway?

The Soviets sow the seeds of discord everywhere, and let them blossom when it is useful to them. The Iranians are the tool to start a nuclear war in the Middle East and drive up the price of oil.

Yeah, great PR...especially if all those warheads they sold Saddam fall into the wrong hands. The Russians are going to use their Navy to move them out of Syria. That is the only reason why they’re there.
