SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Onondaga County District Attorney William Fitzpatrick says Syracuse police are resisting his office's attempts to obtain records in the investigation of Syracuse University assistant basketball coach Bernie Fine.
Fitzpatrick said he had to get a court subpoena Monday ordering police to turn over records. But he said that when the subpoena was served to the deputy chief, it was greeted with an obscenity.
"I've never seen this happen in my history with the DA's office," Fitzpatrick told the Syracuse Post-Standard of the refusal to share records.
ESPN reported last week the claims of two former ball boys that they were molested for years by Fine.

Why would the police not turn over records to the DA’s office? I thought they were on the same side, but maybe I watch too much L&O.
Obvious that the DA is calling this out LOUD...wants NO part of being accused of a cover -up..

The original investigation was done when the chief of police was a former teammate of Boheim (current syracuse coach) in charge of Fine
Makes it look like a cover-up. They are on the same team...what the heck is going on up there?
Watch the beginning of the video. The “victim” is doing a very bad job of faking crying.
Must all be Syracuse basketball fans.
I’ve never heard of anything like this.
Sometimes it’s not the crime but the coverup. The guy mightbe faking but could the police have done a coverup when there wasn’t even a crime.. hmmm
They sure are anxious not to let anyone else look at their file.
No he is not fake crying. It’s a terrible mental suffering that men go through when the emotions of the child abuse catches up to them. His older brother was abused, too.
The crash for abuse victims often happens when they have their first child and can’t ignore or rationalize away the conflict, fear and pain the perp planted within them.
Maybe there are more victims the police have ignored and they don’t want it public. This might be a child sex ring that involves others the cops don’t want to expose.
People have made a grave mistake in playing down the seriousness of the sexual abuse of boys, like the Catholic church did. They tell themselves that the boys can handle it like they are made of steele or something.
