I am sick to death of people trying to sell me stuff. I know that's how they earn their living, but pestering me to the point of distraction is not a legitimate activity, as far as I'm concerned. As the years have gone by I've heard the Christmas music start earlier and earlier and the retail more and more frantic to the point of total obsessive-compulsive insanity.

I'm also sick of everyone in America getting up and driving as a means of celebrating Thanksgiving, Christmas, and apparently every other holiday. Is home so terrible that come hell or high water they must go drive like a bunch of gosh darned lemmings?

All these holidays seem to do these days is make the Chinese and the Arabs even richer and us poorer and Jesus a distant third if even that much. Grrr!

I know a lot of people on FR aren't that way.

Not all Americans live within walking distance of family members. What is so gosh awful about wanting to be with family, even if it means driving?

Oh really? My husband and I drove a day and a half last year so that our (then) 12 year old daughter could meet her grandfather for the first time. I think Jesus was high on list of our priorities, don't you?
