Statement from Butterball:
“Our domestic products are not halal certified and thus, do not require any additional on-package labeling. As is common within the industry, when we started to export our products overseas, we applied for and met the necessary requirements of halal processing for a segment of our business. Butterball whole turkeys are produced in a manner that meets those requirements if needed, but only turkeys exported to specific countries are certified halal.”

Yeah the controversy and problem is that they do all their turkeys halal, not just the ones they slap the halal label on for export. This isn’t unique to butterball, bunch of meat packers doing the same thing...

I'm still confused.
Does that mean turkeys sold in this country are, God forbid, haram?
Sounds like they're in CYA mode to me.

Impossible. “Allah” does not exist, except as a figment in the imagination of people terribly misled. Now it might have been blessed BY A BELIEVER OF ALLAH. That I will say could be possible.

I’m inclined to believe Butterball’s explanation if only because getting halal butchers isn’t free. They would not choose to incur the extra expense except on exports to Muslim countries.

I'll eat food that is healthy, i.e. low sugar, sodium, fat, cholesterol.
I don't care which religious affiliation condones it.
If its Hebrew and it meets the above criterion (I'll eat it); if its Amish (meeting the aforementioned criterion: I'll eat it). Need I say more?

I call BS on Butterball. There is a Butterball turkey plant in Hunts ville Arkansas and not a muslim much less a imam for miles and miles. That plant runs 24/7. Most of the workers don't speak English but are really good with Spanish. And a number of the local Mennonites run turkey houses for Butterball.Perhaps Butterball is just saying that all their turkeys are halal just to boost sales.

I don`t care if they bark at their nonexistent moon god while they prep the turkey, so long as they`re not putting anything into it that they shouldn`t.
The first time they do start putting some kind of disgusting, special muslim ingredient into it will be the last time I buy a turkey from them.

When I was young (many moons ago) my Mom used to buy Butterballs and I did up until about 10 years ago when I learned that regular turkeys cooked properly (brined and baked slowly--12+ hours--) and adding some butter under the skin before baking, made for much tastier and jucier birds than Butterballs ever were.
Now that I know this, I'll spread to word to others as I know many who would not want to support any company that panders to the practittioners of the "Religion of Pieces."

>"Has Your Thanksgiving Turkey Been Blessed by Allah?"Blessed is NOT the correct terminology for what slimes do to food.
Sacrificed to satanallah is more correct.
They scream the kahluah at the bar salute to satan while they murder the animal.
Halal = sacrificed to satan.

I think that posters who suggest they don't care, belies the "POINT," which is that this is again, yet one more example of whereby the Moozies are insisting that "we" (Kuffar/Infidels) pander to "their" religious beliefs, while they refuse to do the same towards "our" culture and mores.
IF the Moozies want to eat Halal, have at it, but to insist that major food producers (and apparently Butterball is far from the only one) prepare ALL of there products in accordance to Islam, is unacceptable and ever more "Creeping Sharia."
They will continue to insist on more and more concessions in every area and arena (to include our Courts) until they have established their Sharia as "acceptable" and then it will be too late to reverse this "Stealth Jihad," as they will have succeeded in becoming a force to be reckoned with.
