The Norquist Myth
National Review ^ | 11/25/2011 | Charles Krauthammer

Posted on 11/25/2011 7:50:28 AM PST by Servant of the Cross

Democrats can’t tell the difference between tax revenues and tax rates.

Democrats are unanimous in charging that the debt-reduction supercommittee collapsed because Republicans refused to raise taxes. Apparently, Republicans are in the thrall of one Grover Norquist, the anti-tax campaigner, whom Sen. John Kerry called “the 13th member of this committee without being there.” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid helpfully suggested “maybe they should impeach Grover Norquist.”

With that, Norquist officially replaces the Koch brothers as the great malevolent manipulator that controls the republic by pulling unseen strings on behalf of the plutocracy.

You lost Dems. It’s time to take your case to the American people. Demand a tax increase.

And good luck.

No Senate Budget for two and a half years. If the MSM will not report it, why does the GOP not talk about it incessantly? A few full page advertisements with a photo of ‘the perp’ Harry Reid - Wanted: a Budget for the Country!

Yet the Democrats, who flatter themselves as the party of fairness, are instead obsessed with raising tax rates on the rich as a sign of civic virtue.

RATS cant comprehend why the real virtue is in letting people keep more of their own money. When rich people spend money on yachts and the like, there is a good chance that they will create jobs for the little guys (and we know that RATS consider themselves champions of little guys).

Of course, when govt confiscates your money and sends it to China to pay interest on the debt, that creates jobs too--for people in China.

The Democrats are in perpetual need of an Emmanuel Goldstein. Doubleplusgood.

Democrats simply can’t tell the difference between tax revenues and tax rates

I believe that the marxists don't see tax revenues as the priority, they want "fairness". If increased tax rates reduces tax revenues it's okay as long as they are forcing the evil rich people to pay through the nose.
They're object is to punish the rich so the not rich can feel a bit of revenge. The people that feel not rich then will vote for the marxists for salving their wounded pride and keep them in power. Power includes the keys to the treasury which they have now emptied.

Obama told the CNBC money babe Maria Bartiloma that he wanted to raise the capital gains rate. When Maria pointed out that lowering the rate would produce more revenue, Obama said that increased renenue wasn’t the point, fairness was.

Too many people fail to grasp that Obama’s main purpose is to transform our country into his vision of utopia. He doesn’t care that outlawing energy production, raising tax rates, imposing national health care, or most any of his other proposals will result in a reduced standard of living. All he cares about is transforming America into a land where his vision of what is ‘fair’ reigns supreme.

Norquist is an Islamophile. Even that beard he’s sporting looks Islamic.

Nuff said.

Demand a tax increase.

They seem to be trying their damnedest.

The utter lack of logic in trying to solve a spending problem
by increasing government revenue escapes me. I am convinced they are either dumb, stupid, ignorant, or all three. There is just no other logical explanation. The party of JKBR. Just Keep blaming Republicans.

That clip should be played over and over and over until people understand that he is a marxist to the core.

Good article, but I always keep a large salt shaker handy when reading Kraut, the former Mondull employee.

My personal opinion is that Pubbies don’t fear Norquist, they rightfully fear their voters. Let’s keep it that way. Grover is just another Crap boogieman.

That clip should be played over and over and over until people understand that he is a marxist to the core. And that is the "change" he is about.
