Well, the fact remains that experienced journalists write headlines in the present tense to make the content seem relevant. And headlines are short and to the point :-)

The title of “experienced journalist” is about on par with “successfull used car salesman”, nowadays.

The only people willing to buy what they sell, have already decided on the price they are able to pay.

And the next time a reporter rudely shoves a mic in front of my face, I will break the battery cover.
Go ahead, try and get that part replaced!
