Yes...some over eat.

But there are medical conditions that can have a profound influence on weight. Something as simple as a hormonal imbalance can lead to fast weight gain with no change in diet or exercise. In fact, hormonal imbalance has been found to the be issue for many perimenpausal women.

On a personal note in the last year I’ve gained nearly 15 unexplained pounds. I eat right and get lots of exercise and I do mean lots of exercise...yet the pounds keep coming. Why? I am perimenpausal.

Just wait.... there will be some here that say “ it’s all in your head” sorta stuff......

That’s what I got told when I gained 20 in a year with perimenopausal weight gain...........not by FReepers but by others. Sucks doesn’t it ? Yeah, big time sucks. And it does NOT want to come off no matter what ~ ugh.

There was an episode of “House” with a girl who was overweight. Dr. Chase, the one with the British accent, kept saying how if she’d just eat less and get off her lazy butt, that she’d lose weight. Turns out, she had a pituitary tumor. She lost the weight once it was removed. I wish people wouldn’t be so quick to judge.
For me personally, I gained 20 pounds in the past 3 years. A recent blood test shows that my thyroid is barely functioning.
