Chuck Todd: GOP Will Have To Be "Dragged, Kicking And Screaming" To Support Romney (video)

NBC's Chuck Todd on "Morning Joe" today: "Apparently the Republican base is going to get dragged, kicking and screaming to come to the conclusion that they're going to have to support Romney at the end of the day. I mean, it is amazing to me to watch this.

"This is a candidate in Gingrich. He is now, the anti-establishment candidate. A former Speaker of the House whose businesses actually have addresses on K Street in Washington, D.C. It's not just -- it's symbolically right there on K Street.

"That to me tells you how much energy there is against Mitt Romney in this Republican field. And at some point, you're right. Do they just surrender and say 'fine, we're going with Romney' or do they fight this and fight this and fight this? And I tell ya, if you look back at 2010, I think they fight this."

—They’re the same people who attacked Palin - and now Gingrich...—

You mean, Palin, Perry, Cain, and now Gingrich. I think...

The only one I will absolutely not pull the lever for is Romney. With the rest I’ll either vote for the man or at least hold my nose and do it.

I’m not going to be dragged anywhere.

Mittens and the GOP can kiss my ass.

Don’t matter how it worked out.

I’m not about to support a party that doesn’t represent me or my views at all.

If that causes the country to fail, so be it.

“I voted for mccain because of Palin... I gave them $2500.00. Did you? I will tell you how that worked out... it sucked... I paid $2500.00 and still got a kenyan usurping islamic traitor for president. I will NOT be making that mistake again. You want romney... you vote for him... you want newt... you vote for him... if the republicans nominate either... I will not vote for them and I will work to finally destroy the branch of the dim party known as the republicon gang. ALL of you have been warned since 2008 by those of us that are right wing extremists... no more rinos... period.”

LLS

This is so beautifully stated.

The warning has been so clear, and their non response to it goes well beyond a political tin ear. The GOP is trying to punt with Romney, bunch of stinking loser cowards is what they are.

You’re right - the only top tier person NOT attacked is Romney... that’s telling.

I'll vote... I did a few weeks ago... all Conservatives and for the first time in over 100 years Mississippi has full republican control of our state government. I will vote for President... I'll write someone in if I am forced to do so... but I will not vote for a rino and I will not accept any blame from you or anyone else. Look to yourselves and ask, “What could I have done to stop these rinos”? The blame lies with those that control every aspect of this election... the elite republican blue blood leadership.

Nope - I would rather have a GOP House and Senate vs Obama, that would create a contentious fighting over the next four years than have a GOP House and Senate with Obama lite (aka Romney) with a green light.

He got that right.

There is still time for Cain to comeback

All FReepers, Tea Partiers and Patriots should not pay any attention to the candidates that New Hampshire gives us. With no race on the Dem side, Tens of thousands of Libs, dems, communists and other freaks will pull a pub ballot. The MSM will play this far and wide, it will lead newscasts, headline papers for weeks. Pay no attention to the man behind the curtain.

The reason the rinos keep winning is that many voters say - no matter which Republican is left standing - they get my vote.

When the GOP knows that up front - why not just keep doing what they do?!

I'll do a write-in if I have to. No more 'best of the worst' for me!!

They are really trying to steer the party into nominating Romney. And THEN the gloves come off.

They know his weaknesses and that battle is the one they want and are prepared to fight. And if Romney is the nominee, forget about obamacare being a campaign issue. Meanwhile, if Cain is the nominee, forget about the black vote being sewn up by our current mulatto president.

Interesting concept. Interesting discussion.

Well, truth be told, if anyone made any effort whatsoever to "drag" THIS (meaning me) Conservative American to any polling place in the USA to be forced to cast a vote for a RINO like Willard Romney which simply means a slow liberal national death as opposed to a fast one, why then, they would not be on this Earth for very long, tell ya what. Nobody drags or forces ANYONE to do ANYTHING when it comes to casting a vote. Talking like this, even if joking, borders on provocative and I can assure anyone that I and millions of others don't take too kindly to it.

Newt lost me when I saw him on Youtube sitting on a sofa with Nan (due to the subject matter of the video).

But I’d still hold my nose and pull the lever for him. Not so with Romney.

You are correct... but it's not just that Chris... the elite hate us every bit as much as anyone on the left does.
