NBC's Chuck Todd on "Morning Joe" today: "Apparently the Republican base is going to get dragged, kicking and screaming to come to the conclusion that they're going to have to support Romney at the end of the day. I mean, it is amazing to me to watch this.
"This is a candidate in Gingrich. He is now, the anti-establishment candidate. A former Speaker of the House whose businesses actually have addresses on K Street in Washington, D.C. It's not just -- it's symbolically right there on K Street.
"That to me tells you how much energy there is against Mitt Romney in this Republican field. And at some point, you're right. Do they just surrender and say 'fine, we're going with Romney' or do they fight this and fight this and fight this? And I tell ya, if you look back at 2010, I think they fight this."

Then get out and support someone acceptable for the primary fight. Staying home or voting third party guarantees four more of Obama and probably the end of the Republic.

Both have spent too much time at the “Establishment Well”?That said, however, most people don’t seem to realize that Malkin is no longer “Hot Air” - she sold it a year ago. People need to look at the names of the people who now write the articles on Hot Air - evidently part of the contract - Michelle no longer writes the articles -

ANYONE BUT ROMNEY out of the current field. Cain/Gingrich would be the ideal ticket from this group. Cain for his business sense and overall good looks and charm and Gingrich for his vast experience ( he DID actually balance the federal budget once)

But, having been born in Panama and not on a US naval base in the Canal Zone, John McCain was probably Constitutionally ineligible to be president.
Just think how much better Conservatives would have fared if greater scrutiny had been placed on the unconstitutional Act of Congress that "grandfathered" presidential elgibility upon McCain. The scrutiny on McCain's ineligibility might have even spawned scrutiny upon Obama's ineligibility.
If McCain had been elected, part of me was secretly hoping for a Constitutional challenge by the Democrats that would have seated Sarah Palin as President.
Hey, I'll go on record -- if Mitt (or Huntsman) is the nominee I'll vote for him, go home, barf, and then get really drunk to ease my self-loathing.
Now will the Mitt/Huntsman crowd do the same for Perry, Cain or Newt?

Romney is a scam candidate. I refuse to vote for him, and if the GOP tries to force him down my throat, I won’t vote at all.
This country is on the way down anyway... Romney, Obama—they are two peas in a pod as far as I’m concerned. For Romney, if elected it will be political business as usual.
Give me a real candidate. One who will make the changes we desperately need: moral leadership, smaller government, less regulation, fewer taxes and fees, and less government.
On the contrary. I am a conservative.
However, if we cannot get an ideal conservative candidate nominated, any "R" is better than leaving Obama in office. I believe it would be easier to pressure a Republican President to sign onto conservative legislation and adopt conservative public policy, than it would if Obama were left in office.
Seriously, do none of you "conservatives in priciple" not see it the same way? An abstain vote against Romney, or a write-in vote for a "serious" conservative is a de facto vote for Obama. And if Obama is elected by default to a second term, the damage to our country will be beyond repair.

Look, we WILL vote for a less than perfect conservative.
However Romney has NO conservative in him whatsoever. So why should he get my support?
Keep telling the Republican party that you will vote for whatever Bob, John, or Mitt they decide to run and you are enabling them to keep running those kind of people.
They listen to you nad guys like you and figure the Conservative vote is theirs no matter what they do. Well, that may have been true in the old days but those days are over.
It is time to put them on notice that that is no longer the case.
It is far worse to vote for a liberal Republican than it is to not vote for one. Regardless of the competition from the Dem side.
The Republican party needs to know right now that we conservatives are not “theirs” to use as they wish.
If you vote Republican just because the candidate has an R after their name - no matter who it is - then you are indeed a Republican and not a Conservative.
