DENVER -- United Airlines is investigating a complaint from a passenger that he and his partner were called a gay slur by an agent at Denver International Airport.

They may not have heard it correctly. It could have been "Gessler" (the villian in the William Tell legend). If so it was a highly imaginative and recondite insult, the user should be forgiven for that reason.
