However, it is a big FIRST step, and that your right on. Never the less, full deportation will be needed, many of these folks will join gangs and rob and steal and commit crimes. This whole "peaceful illegal doing the work americans won't do" is bull, alot of them are hardcore gangbangers.
Deportation plus what you have stated, are not even the whole bag, you'll still need heave enforcement at the border, and serious penalities for those who hire illegals and pay them off the books (honestly, many illegals now are off the books, which is why programs like e-verify have holes in them).
