I heard him hammering away on the idea of a part time congress where reps go home to do their regular jobs in their own communities when the legislature is not in session. I like that a lot!

Actually, I think Newt got close to this concept in the last debate. Didn’t he come out for no public benefits, and some of the other things you posted?
Ol Herb couldn’t keep from showing what weak candidate he was in a kissyfest with Newt.

It’s the “gotcha” question of the immigration debate, hasn’t anyone figured that out by now? You ask “what will you do with the x million illegals after you secure the border?” If they say they will deport all x million, you call them a racist...if they say they cannot deport all x million you scream amnesty. Rick is smart to avoid the gotcha question.
I like it too, it’s certainly what our Founders had in mind. Perry or any President will have a real challenge trying to convince those DC hacks that it’s a good idea, but it should be promoted and pushed nonetheless.

Really? Which President has America elected that represents that? Obama? Bush? Clinton? Better yet, I’ll reduce it to candidate level. McCain? Bob Dole? Gore? Dukakis?
Screaming is just noise. Voting is all that matters. And America votes no big deal...
I’ve thought about that also...that many Freepers absolutely can’t stand Perry...one posibility is that they subliminally fear that he’ll turn out to be another W..not really conservative....just a thought..
