Good point. Actually i hope the Pubs are stupid enough to give this geezer the prize. It will finally end the consevative wing of the democrat party . Imagine that gasbag spending all of his time defending his past . I can see it now , the bloated old white guy on stage with the young prince. No will care about what Mr Wizard has to say , they will recoil in horror at the site of the new McCain. Newt the fat face of the GOP. Same as it ever was. This will be funny to watch.

[It’s not likely that Newt can sustain these numbers for 2 months.

He has nowhere to go but down.]

LOL! Weren’t you saying the same thing over 2 months ago?

You also must not get out much. Newt has steadily gone up over the last 4 months and is now solidly in front with strong 30% support numbers. And the voters who are supporting him, know full well about Newt’s long career.

It’s the main reason that Newt is now on top. It was us Reagan voters who helped put him there. And we will keep him there.

A conservative Congress could block Gingrich on amnesty, but it can’t force him defend the borders. Bush did nothing for 8 years and the problem just got worse.

That is a good thing, rejoice and be glad in it. You may remove yourself and have your pity party, we're not interested, BUT we will wait for ya'.

“I’ll be moderately happy if I have to settle for him.”

I am not enthused about him, but I prefer him to any of the POTUS choices I’ve had since 1988. Needs must when the devil drives.

“Gingrich/Rubio 2012”!!! Keep dreaming. Rubio is not stupid. He will not strap himself to that fossil. He will wait until the end of O’s second term and run as the New and Young face of the party. He is a winner and will not go down with the Old Man ship like Palin did.

The difference between you and I is that you care about beating Obama and getting power while I care about saving America from Obama, Gingrich and the likes of you.

Newt’s policies are Mitt’s and Obama’s policies.

Newt was the inventor of the “Mandate.”

Newt wrote much of the legislation creating the Dept of Education.

Newt was a core sponsor of ANWR.

Newt was responsible for increasing the funding of the UN when he was speaker.

Newt had his fingerprints on every harmful piece of legislation that has come down while he was in office.

Gingrich has argued the first priority for immigration reform is tighter border control. He has pushed for Congress to pass a narrowly written emergency border bill to finish the border fence between the United States and Mexico in less than a year and have complete border control within two years.[107] In addition to greater border control, Gingrich has advocated for measures to discourage the hiring and harboring of illegal immigrants, such as shifting Internal Revenue Service resources to audit companies that employ illegal immigrants and cutting off federal aid to cities, counties or states that refuse to enforce immigration laws. He has frequently argued for using credit card companies to develop identification cards and a real-time system to verify citizenship.[107]

.
Nor can it prevent Newt’s veto of the repeal of Obamacare. Remember, he invented the “Mandate.”

What a disaster to see people cheering a big government, statist, pro-amnesty, philandering RINO.

You'll pardon me for not taking your opinion too seriously.

Newt isn't perfect but he is an acceptable alternative to Robomney.

PPP is run by a Democrat, however their polls tend to be pretty good - objectively speaking.

Either way, it's probably pretty accurate when it comes to Romney - not a lot of folks like him in Florida.

The curious thing about PPP is it actually produces pretty straight results. It’s 2010 calls were mostly right on.

Anybody who believes that a President Newt would veto an ObamaCare Repeal bill that hits his desk is smoking some mighty powerful green stuff.

With the Latino population here, now at around 40%, which is soon to become a majority, it is not politically healthy to reject them based solely on their race. For anyone. Not even you.

It's a real and lasting problem that will not go away by rounding them up. slamming the door behind them or throwing them in jail.

To say anything on the contrary, is not only unrealistic, it is patently ignorant.

“Fortress America” is purely a Populist/Libertarian fantasy. It will never become a reality. especially now. If you choose to keep reliving that fantasy, then you never will grasp the gravity of how things truly are. And if you think any political party can win future elections on the criteria you exhibit, then you will find yourself rather isolated and under represented.

“Weren’t you saying the same thing over 2 months ago?”

No. 2 months ago Newt was polling at 2% in Florida.

And no, Newt’s rise hasn’t been steady. He jumped 20 points in 2 weeks in just about every poll.

His surge was created artificially by 2 weeks of incessant Cain bashing by the media. The problem for Newt is that the charges against Cain are mostly bogus and if adultery disqualifies Cain then Newt is a dead man walking.
