Yes, it’s been through many different disguises over the years. My husband, as a kid, used to take the subway down from the Bronx in the early 60s to go to the movies. My father took me to the premiere of “Funny Girl” at the old Criterion Theatre. All of it was better than the phoney Disney World it has become.

Me too! We always went to the city when I was a kid to shop in Gimbels and Ice Skate at the Rock. Center. When we were a little older we would take the subway to Yankee Stadium. Even though it was the 70’s..... Better times! Now you have all these carpetbaggers who think they are New Yorkers coming from PA and Ohio. I laughed one day this summer when I met up with my neighbor she bragged about her brilliant daughter who graduated from Julliard lives in Harlem and workes two low paying jobs then she said “there is nothing for her hear”. Here is Northeast PA. I said to her “did you ever visit your daughter in Harlem”. She did not even know what part of the city Harlem was. I would think her daughter would be better off in the sticks.
