Cain: The Democrats might be trying to take me down because I’m their worst nightmare

Makes sense. Who wouldn’t rather face a skilled debater and policy wonk with lots of government experience than a neophyte who sometimes has trouble stating the conservative line against abortion? Skip ahead to 8:30 of the first clip and keep watching through the first two minutes or so of the second. The best part is when he speculates that people have to resort to smear tactics because they can’t make anything stick when they attack him on … foreign policy. Here’s the map from the foreign-policy section of his website, by the way.

If you lost track of whether he’s staying in or getting out of the race, here’s how things have played out over the last 24 hours. Last night, Mark Block said there’s “no way he’s dropping out.” Then today Cain told reporters, “We are reassessing and reevaluating.” Then he got up onstage in Dayton and declared that “The American people are going to raise some Cain in 2012!” and that, while some people may want him to drop out, “The American people have a different idea.” Then he sat down with Cavuto and said he’ll decide whether to quit or not over the next week. That’s just the sort of uncertainty wealthy donors want to hear, I’m sure. Allen West told a radio show this morning that it’s time for Cain to pack it in and quit being a distraction to the rest of the field, a sentiment that seemed to be shared (but not explicitly echoed) by several Republican governors at today’s RGA meeting. NBC asks a good question, though:

What does Cain have to gain by getting out of the GOP presidential race? A future political career? A vice-presidential nomination? You could make the case that by staying in the race – and having some positive debate performances down the stretch – Cain could return to the candidate he was back in August (that is, someone who’s on the stage, who can deliver some memorable lines and is likeable, but who isn’t a threat to win in Iowa or anywhere else).

Yeah, but what does he gain by staying in, especially if there’s a risk of more accusers coming forward? His home life must be suffering from all this and that’ll only make it worse. The only reason I can think of to stick it out is that he’s angling for a show on Fox News a la Huckabee or some similar media platform after the campaign’s over and leaving the race under a cloud of suspicion might hurt his chances at a contract. I don’t think he has to worry — in a world where Client Number Nine can anchor CNN’s primetime line-up, Cain should be just fine — but it probably helps his marketability to persevere, deny everything, and blame the Democrats and the media for being smear machines. Then again, the greater the number of accusers, the more people will wonder about him and the less marketable he’ll be. If he drops out now, media interest in him will evaporate and, probably, so will the chance of new allegations. Tough call. Exit question via Cavuto: If this really is a smear machine at work, how come none of the other candidates have been targeted?

Me thinks Herman may be overestimating himself just a wee bit.

Whom they fear they smear! The uppity Cain is the runaway turned conservative renegade off the Black Democrat plantation and refuses to wear the wool over his eyes. Plus Cain is unabashed in his love for God and the Constitution. Big target on his back.
Gingrich/Cain or Cain/Gingrich works for me.

Herman benefits from a couple of things...

1) People like him because he isn’t a “establishment” politician.
2) He speaks with common sense. (Most people don’t speak in polished “policteze” and accept generalities.)
3) He has a proven success record in the real world of business.
4) His followers don’t trust either the Main stream press or the establishment GOP (his main attackers)
5) Even with his faults, he would 1000 times better then Obama or Romney or Newt.

Ask the evicted Sharon Beach a lick how well thats turned out for her being played from the hot one.

First, none of the other POTUS nominee candidates are Black Conservatives!!! You gotta be kidding me to ask this question. Obama is terrified of Herman Cain!!! Cain must be destroyed in any way, in any manner, and... Obama, Axelrod and the media are doing all possible to kill Cain off. God forbid this Black American gains the nomination as GOP nominee for POTUS and garners 20-30% of the Black & Hispanic American voters, which he will. It’s political curtains for Obama and a good portion of his Democrat Party as a good number of Blacks will desert the economic slavery plantation of Obama and his slaveholder Democrat Party!!!

Herman Cain, I know, we all know, how painful this awful, hateful, charade is hurting you and your family in many negative ways. But......like Washington & Lincoln, who both took terrible abuse of all natures during their trek to greatness, you must stay in the race, win or lose. The collective, destroyers of the American Republic, Obama and his “traitor” Democrat Party cannot be allowed a victory of destruction on your behalf. Hang in there, Mr Cain!!! The American people have your back covered and, I believe your family will see and support the greater cause you are fighting for. It is not only freedom, liberty and opportunity for America, you seek, but.....a greater cause in freeing the Black economic slaves, held captive on the Obama/Democrat slave plantation. Finally, a Black American will have the chance and opportunity, like Moses, leading the Jews, to lead Black Americans, enmasse to an America that practices equality & individual, multiple, diverse opportunities and resulting success for all its citizens!!!

That is whay Herman Cain must stay in this race, win or lose. Either way, he is a game changer for a much better and more equal America!!! Obama, IMHO, is no less than a bad street thug & tyrant, power hungry, elitist. period!!! Obama, IMHO could care less about Black folks, or, for that matter any folks. He and his wife have one care and purpose in their sad sack lives, themselves and the power to rule absolutely. Shades of some other bad folks I know, no pun imtended!!!

Saying he isn’t qualified because of foreign policy gaffes is ridiculous. You look at so-called foreign policy geniuses who are responsible for the Iraq debacle or the policy in Afghanistan and you wonder what makes someone “qualified” based on their so-called foreign policy knowledge. Or supporting islamic terrorist scum in every arab country like the muslim brotherhood so they take over and wage holy war on Israel and the US. That is now considered brilliant and astute foreign policy by the MSM(and RINOs for that matter).

Give me someone who does a near 180 on current US foreign policy and I’ll show you a qualified candidate.

Exactly, which is why Herman is 100% correct about why the Dems are attacking him. Why don't the Dems attack Romney or Newt? Just wait, if either one of them gets the nomination, they'll get theirs. . .the difference is the Dems are salivating to unload on a Newt or a Romney. . .

In case anyone has been watching. . .the Dem plan is to divided the country, basically into two groups: Group one: RICH - WHITE - WORKING - PRIVATE SECTOR - NON-UNION, Group Two: POOR - MINORITIES - UNEMPLOYED - PUBLIC SECTOR - UNION. Newt as leader of Group one fits perfectly as the template foil. Newt is white, arrogant, etc. ..Romney? he's so tragically white its pathetic. . another perfect fit for the template. CAIN? HE BLOWS THE STRATEGY OUT THE WINDOW. . and that's why , as Herman indicated, the Dems fear him. . .and that is another reason why I'm sticking with the Cain Train (In addition to Scubies 5 points).

Yea, I'm so sure they would much rather take on:

1. Myth - with his myriad of positions and liberal past. That's going to go over well with the base.
2. Newt - Ditto.
3. Perry - With his inability to debate and his past non-conservative positions which he refuses to back down from, i.e. Open-Border positions (No E-Verify, No Border fence, No AZ1070, Yes on Comprehensive Immigration Reform), TTC, Guardisil, Signing a Hate-Crimes bill, etc.

I hear that porn king has lots of money and a track record of spending it to buy s-— to sling at Conservatives/ Christians
who have a chance at public policy. The ACLU —and the Homosexual Community likewise have more liquid assets they are willing to spend to destroy or damage any Conservative Christian. No doubt Jesse Jackson’s Rainblow coalition has contributed as well-can’t have any black who is not controlled by the Democratic Plantation boss -appear acceptable.Plenty of suspects My answer would be—NUTS!David wasn’t freaking out about Goliath;but David had stones, and trusted God.Tebow Time.

The article is right, Cain's map and simplistic expansions on each two word descriptions are epic comic book think.

I'm beginning to suspect that Herman's idea of studying world affairs and foreign policy is reading the latest GoldKey comic book version of it. He doesn't even achieve the level of Cliff Notes.

"If this really is a smear machine at work, how come none of the other candidates have been targeted?

A more pointed question might have been: Which of the "other candidates" absolutely invalidates the opposing Party's repeated claims of 'racism' and is likely to make significant inroads into the African-American vote in 2012?

The one thing all his accusers have in common is money woes. They would be pretty easy pickings for the Hermanator.

Personally I wouldn’t put that as the most important factor in judging a rich powerful man. It’s almost a given. But if I hear ‘My 9-9-9 plan’ one more time I’ll puke.

Only slight off-topic... can we put a moratorium on the phrases “Obama’s worst nightmare” and “Democrats’ worst nightmare”?

It seems like every candidate, potential candidate, and even gadflys like Tatiz and Arpario have been tagged with those appellations. It’s over-used, tiresome, and generally inaccurate.

My 9-9-9 plan . . . sorry, just couldn't help myself. :)

You're right about that endless refrain. It has become a meaningless mantra he uses as a catchall response to any question that vexes him--especially when he is caught out on a question of foreign policy--he immediately turns to his 9-9-9 plan and how the best foreign policy is a strong economy here at home . . . blah, blah, blah. Pure bromide.

Not sure about him being Moses But the rest I absolutely agree.

A successful Black Conservative politican Is a game changer for the Dems.

If they no longer can count on huge portions of the black population to Vote Dem, they have lost a huge portion of there power base at the State and Federal level.

To a Dem Cain must be stopped at all Cost.
