A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey of Likely Republican Primary Voters finds Gingrich on top with 38% of the vote. Former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney is a distant second at 17%. No other candidate reaches double-digits.

The way this reads, it looks like the “not-Romney” voters (aside from Wrong Paul) are coalescing around Newt.

Anyone running will. Obama will not go quietly. I still see his reelection as more likely than not no matter the GOP nominee.

oops...

thank you, I had not noticed that. I tried to re-arrange the sidebar legend with perry below paul and flubbed the chart colors in the process.

Once the public hears what Newt has to say, Obama will be roadkill.

Newt stands the best chance of all the candidates to win this thing. America could care less about his past.

I agree. It's obvious that Americans are extremely concerned about the state of our nation and want someone in the White House that will seriously clean up this mess.

I’d like to be a bug on the wall at the Romney headquarters.

Ron Paul running for President reminds me of the perennial POTUS candidate, Harold Stassen. He had a group of dedicated followers and ran in 12 campaigns for POTUS starting in 1948 and ending in 2000.

Mitt Romney is a suede shoe phoney of the first order. Who the H*LL is supporting that goof?

Another poll turned up from LAST week, YouGov Poll 11/26
Its results were....
Gingr. Romney Cain
25	17.0	15.0

I inserted the poll chronologically and redid this chart...
.

With Rasmussen added

Much like what the government does with unemployment statistics, the following chart represents a 4-poll "rolling average" for the latest 20+ polls listed at RealClearPolitics.com (plus other recent national polls).

I also weighted the polls by their size. For example, a poll with a survey size of 1000 was weighted proportionately heavier than an 324 survey size.

Weighted 4-Poll Rolling Averages of the latest 20+ Polls
listed at RCP   [as of Dec 1st]
plus
YouGov polls 11/26 11/19, 11/12, 11/5, 10/29, 10/22, 10/15, 10/08, &
Poll Position 11/27 11/22 11/8, and 11/1 polls inserted chronologically
I also broke the 11/9 - 11/14 Pew poll into two, (3-day) polls

(Example methodology for this chart will be on my profile page)

Roadkill is an understatement! And yes, Newt does stand the best chance of wining. As far as his past; (they smear what they fear)

But, if Rick doesn’t make a comeback, we’d better pray that Newt is as good as he sounds.

Amen!

Santorum at 4 percent. I think that’s the highest number he’s gotten to date. I think he might be the BIG SURPRISE coming out of Iowa. He won’t win, but, I predict he will finish in the top 3.

Anyone who is the GOP nominee will have to "struggle mightily" in the General Election. Obozo will have a $ Billion warchest and the Chicago Thug Machine behind him; not to mention the media, Unions, Hollywood, 95% of the Blacks, Gays, Environmentalist wackos and Americans with the IQ of a can of Spam. It will be a close election. That's why I'm so pissed that Huntsman has "not ruled out" a Third Party run.

It has been 40 years since we’ve had a nominee that isn’t “stupid”.
The GOP Nominee 40 years ago was Richard Nixon. The way he handled the Watergate debacle was "stupid". Are you saying that Ronald Reagan was stupid? Not so, my friend; not so.
