It was the Bush faction that went after Newt when he was Speaker Of The House. Newt became frustrated with the spineless jerks like rent Lott, who undermined his Contract With America and the impeachment of Slick Willie in the Senate.
Shortly after that, they (The GOP) threw Newt under the bus.
Newt is not at all an establishment RINO. He never was.
Thanks for pointing this out. He, like Reagan, had to deal with many fair-weather friends who undercut or betrayed him at the first opportunity. Newt will first stick it to the lieberals and then to the go-along, get-along Repukelicans.
