But what if there's nothing to "come clean" about? What if the whole thing is a propaganda show? Think about it. Should he lie, so people can forgive him for something he didn't do? How well would that set with a genuinely moral man? Indeed, if he tried to play along with it just to buy some fake forgiveness, I really would have no respect for him. As it is, nothing's been proven against him, he has denied it all, and we are supposed to presume innocence until otherwise notified. Losing Palin to the leftist lie machine (LLM) was bad enough. What is to be gained by lying about Mr. Cain, and would it be worth the risk knowing the MSM wouldn’t dig it out? Millions and millions of dollars, power, control, careers, salaries. I believe someone would cook the lie in a heart beat. I still want Mr. Cain on the ballot. And yes, the dems would count on the MSM to not investigate it.

Is Herman Cain our next POTUS or not?
(As a disclosure, I'm not a supporter of any of the candidates, just someone who'll vote R in the general.)
1) I think that he probably did have a thing going at one time with White, that it was long over and that, for whatever reasons of guilt, fear or compassion, he has been helping her financially.
2) I do not think that this should sink him as a candidate - it will but it shouldn't.
3) He probably did say a couple of dicey things to some women back in his corporate days...but that type of banter is de riguer at corporate events with an open bar. I say, "so what".
4) I like the idea of Herman Cain as a serious contender better than I do the reality ---- 999 was always a non-starter for me.
WADR, I beg to examine some of your remarks, one by one.

First of all; I have seen no clear evidence whether Cain’s support is cratering, or not. It may be, but there have been no reliable reports that I have seen.

A lady who I admire a lot, Ms. Alveda King, came out in defense of Herman Cain today, and the goods on the accuser are just now oozing out into the open. I intend to keep my powder dry and wait a little while before judging.

Cain on Hannity now, saying it’s unfair to his family and supporters to make them keep going through this. Will announce by Monday whether he quits, keeps going, or “suspend” his campaign. Says someone is payting these women, and he will find out and expose it in any case.

Gingrich is the antithesis to what will save America, starting with his emotional warfare that supports illegal aliens and global warming. You are out of your mind if you think Gingrich will get the base to come out and unseat Obama, and this is simply because the MSM hasn’t yet aired all the trash they have on him yet.
When the first two women came forward with past sexual harassment resolved cases I was skeptical of them. Anyone that has worked for a corporation has seen or experienced some ditsy female spouting off sexual harassment accusations at the drop of a pin, so to speak, and I thought Cain had been the recipient of same here.But his admitting to funneling money to this latest female friend secretly(unbeknown by/to his spouse) for many years doesn’t meet the smell test to me?

There’s a lot of competition to be the one who puts the final nail in Cain’s candidacy’s coffin.
The Dems just cannot take a chance on Herman capturing the nomination. If this bimbo doesn’t do the trick they will trot another one out in a couple of weeks. He is toast and I hate to see it happen.
Nothing, of course. Perhaps I misunderstand your point, but my point is that if in fact nothing untoward happened, Mr. Cain would be lying if he "admitted" to an affair that never actually happened. A presumption of innocence, and a claim of innocence coupled with the absence of any credible proof to the contrary, should be enough for fair-minded people to give him the benefit of the doubt.

I am glad that only about 20% of FR is taken in by it as far as I can tell, but still, that is way too much for a Conservative, anti-MSM/Anti Lib Establishment website and forum in my humble opinion. These are sad days indeed.
