PARIS A Syrian government run by the country's main opposition group would cut Damascus's military relationship to Iran and end arms supplies to Middle East militant groups such as Hezbollah and Hamas, the group's leader said, raising the prospect of a dramatic realignment of powers at region's core.
Burhan Ghalioun, the president of the Syrian National Council, said such moves would be part of a broader Syrian reorientation back into an alliance with the region's major Arab powers. Mr. Ghalioun's comments came Wednesday, in his first major media interview since he was made SNC leader in October.

“A Syrian government run by the country’s main opposition group”.. - who are they, anyway?
“a broader Syrian reorientation back into an alliance with the region’s major Arab powers.” - like current Tunisia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Jordan, Yemen, etc?
BS
Another country in the Middle East poised to go Islamofascist. And our money is underwriting this ‘Arab Spring’ that will make it impossible for Christians to remain in any of the Arab Spring countries (mainly Egypt). OBAMA YOU OWN THE NEW ISLAMOFASCIST MIDDLE EAST!
I think they are basically a gov’t in exile that Khaddam has put together.
Khaddam is the former Syrian VP, who fled in 2005(6?) and accused Assad of being involved in the murder of Rafiq Hariri in Lebanon. He’s been living in exile in Paris.
Reading about him reveals that he is sunni & seems to have ties to the Saudi royal family. He was a right-hand man of Hafez Assad.

Besides, all politicians or aspiring ‘leaders’ tend to right cheques (checks) their other parts can’t necessarily cash..
In that respect, and for foreign policy, an old adage comes to mind: “Fools rush in where angels fear to tread”.
right = write
The trouble with stories like this is that you never know whether one, or the other, or maybe both sides are lying. It’s like an international brain teaser.
Assad's Alawite tribe is aligned with the Shiites religiously, and the majority of Syrians are Sunii... Make sense now?
I say we supply arms to all sides, so they can efficiently kill each other.
