No, I support experience. Reagan wasn’t a career politician, but he had a lengthy career in the public arena making speeches, campaigning for candidates, etc. and 8 years as governor of the nation’s most populated state.

Perhaps you could ask “Liz” to not ping the Cain supporters to the Perry threads. It’s childish and unproductive. And ugly.

I NEVER go to a Perry thread. Why would I ? I don’t want him as our nominee, so why waste my time there. And it doesn’t build up one’s chosen candidate to tear down another one.

Each of these candidates need to stand on their own two feet and earn the nomination.

FReepers need to stop bashing other people’s candidates. And yes, I posted my own vanity today saying I don’t like Romney. But it’s a given that FR is a Romney-Free Zone, so I wasn’t bashing another FReeper’s candidate. (At least not one who admits it in public.)

Anyway, I just think it’s childish, and really ugly when FReepers bash candidates on threads that are about that candidate. I have no disagreement if Perry supporters want to bash Cain on a PERRY THREAD.

FR used to be pretty good about giving people a hard time for “hijacking a thread”. It seems like hijacking is an accepted practice on here these days.

Ask “Liz” to knock off the pings of Cain people over to Perry threads. That’s just stupid.

Oh, we’ve asked her many times but they just love to it.

If you’d ever been there, which is fine since you are not for Perry, you have no idea of the vitriol and hate that these people post on Perry threads.

I haven’t been able to figure this out as they always say that Perry doesn’t have a chance.

I would never post the sort of things on Cain threads that they post. I have just posted some of my opinions but the person who asked me to leave had a point.

I’m only coming back to reply to your kind post.

But ‘Liz’ is a whole different class of person.

No offense

Don't kid yourself, you are offensive

but “common sense ordinary citizens” aren’t qualified for the most important job in the world. It takes decades of work in the public arena. No one with Cain’s thin public record has ever been elected prez for good reason.

Give your head a shake. It's been the professional politicians, elitists and insiders that have brought America to the edge of cataclysm, "work in the public arena" my ass, what you call Cain's "thin public record" is more substantial than most Americans will ever achieve in their lifetime, especially YOU!!

Take that elitist attitude and stick it where the sun don't shine.

Well, it wouldn't surprise me if certain people on here are not who they portray themselves to be. Could be DU, could be supporters of other candidates, etc.

In my personal experience, there have been several Cain-haters who, when I either point out their lies, or ask them “have you watched the full video”, or anything like that, they do not respond. I suspect they are here to do damage, and nothing more. They believe if they repeat the lies enough times, it will become fact. And in reality, they are right. People are sheep and they will believe something if it is repeated enough times.

(Look at the “Ginger White and her business partner were lesbian lovers” rumor that is still running amok, even though it was proven to be a misunderstood poorly worded sentence from the original article.)

They are trolls, and should be labelled as such. Here to cause damage and nothing more. I wish the mods would simply zot them. Whether they be trashing up the Perry threads or the Cain threads or wherever they are. But it's hard to prove they are trolls... Kinda like it's hard to prove Cain had sex with that woman! LOL

But at the least, people should slap each other around for hijacking threads.

Thanks for the comments. Criminal attorney... yep, par for the course. As for MLK being a Republican, I’d never heard that before. If that’s true, why not? Amazing!

You are closer to the OWS movement than you know. The Founders didn’t set up a country where the common man ruled. That’s why orginally only Representatives were directly elected.

Think Washington, Adams, Jefferson, Hamilton, Franklin, etc. were the common man? Even Lincoln was one of the leading railroad attorneys of the day.

The first person to run for the “common man” was Andrew Jackson. Look at his personal history and say there was anything common about him.

If that were true why didn’t the founders put that in the constitution? You know...35 years old, natural born citizen, X amount of years in the public arena? Perhaps they never intended on a permanent political class. Historically things have only gotten worse and more complicated as our politicians have become entrenched.

cindie
