Not only is it a line of credit, it’s his own money. No taxpayer was affected in this instance. It’s hypocritical of the left to be ticked off about this, while at the same time brimming with glee when the Obama’s whisk off to some million dollar junket every other week, on the taxpayer’s dime.

I don’t get the impression that anyone is ticked off about Callista’s necklace, nor about Michelle’s expenditures on clothes or jewelry.

I think the point is that whenever someone in this position goes over-the-top, say, with jewelry, they are bound to be written up in the gossip pages of newspapers and snarked about on the web, etc.

I guess that’s one reason why people wear $45,000 necklaces in the first place — to get attention!

Just seems to me that, more often than not, it’s not particularly positive publicity, no matter who (which party) is involved. So it just leads to wondering how much this is worth it to the pol and his spouse and why.
