Everyone hates him for not standing on principle. At least he’s doing so this time.

One problem is that in 2008, Romney stated in debates that Massachusetts was a model for the nation.

His handlers told him there's no way he can run away from the signature achievement of his political career. It'd be like Newt saying the Contract With America was a mistake.

Either that or he really likes it. The only other possibility is that he's afraid to take ownership of such a huge "mistake".

Too bad he chose to stand on “principle” we cannot and will not support.

Poor socialist Romney! It sucks to be a RINO when he should be a registered democrat.

Principle is just as much about doing the right thing. It really casts a shadow over his judgement given the results of his ‘experiment’ in MA. Romneycare was a failure in MA before it even got started especially because of the federal component which keeps the true cost of the program from the backs of those in MA. Even with that the subsidized portion is exploding in cost just as expected. This just proves he really believes in big govt involvement in health care when it involves him a ‘Republican’ and that is not just a problem with Romney it is a problem with a good segment of the DC GOP establishment. They aren’t really opposed to Obama on the level of principle just on a matter of degree. They mostly don’t see a problem with govt playing bigger and more widespread roles in everything provided it is they who are defining the rules.
