Back in the mid-80’s there were some ministries that started getting small Bibles into Russia and East Germany thru unusual methods (not sure if they tried balloons). They said that even if people didn’t read them they would sell them on the Black Market so they would still find a way into people’s hands.

I remember hearing a preacher saying back then that the Iron Curtain would fall in the next few years.

This was at the height of the Cold War and I thought he was crazy.

My father always thought it would be rock and roll, cola and a desire for good quality bluejeans that would collapse the wall eventually. In any case, whether it be music, marshmallow treats or bibles, the glimpse of something better out there, stays with a person.
