Israel government scores own goal with US Jewish organisations
The Israeli government is facing an unusual backlash from major US Jewish organisations after launching an advertising campaign essentially urging Israeli expats not to marry clueless American Jews or raise their children in the United States.

The first ad shows a young Israeli woman wincing after her boyfriend mistakes candles and music marking Yom HaZikaron, Israel's memorial day, for a romantic night in.
The words "They will always remain Israelis. Their partners won't always understand what that means. Help them return to Israel" are read by a sombre narrator and scrolled across the screen.
The second ad strikes at an even more sensitive fear disappointing your parents. It shows a little girl sitting on her parent's lap during a video chat with her grandparents in Israel. The girl speaks good Hebrew, but when her grandmother asks what holiday it is the girl shouts "Christmas" in English despite the Hanukkah menorah in the background.
The Jewish Federations of North America sent a letter of protest to the Israeli Ministry of Immigrant Absorption calling the campaign's "messages that American Jews do not understand Israel deeply insulting and simply outrageous."
"We fear this campaign will only backfire, and rather than simply bringing Israelis back, will alienate and divide Diaspora Jews from Israel," wrote the umbrella group which represents 157 Jewish federations and over 300 network communities.

It seems to me that the Israels have hit a home run with these ads. American secular Jews are no friends of Israel. They are Liberals first, socialists/Marxists second, and Jews In Name Only. JINOs are also breeding themselves into extinction through a combination of low birthrate and intermarriage with non-Jews.
I stand with Israel and I am not a Jew. I understand the situation in the Middle East and the threats Israel faces from a radicalized, resurgent Muslim Jihad. It's more that Israel's problem — it's an assault upon the very fabric of Western Civilization. So far, the gutless and PC-ridden Western Civilization states are losing by committing internal suicide.
I pray that Israel does the right thing and wipes the map of Iran (and Syria). Israel is alone. The U.S. and the Euros are paralyzed. It's up to Israel to strike soon or be destroyed.
as a Jew, i see the amount of assimilation that many American Jews have chosen. the ads are actually spot on about that, but i wonder if this approach is really the way to bring yor’dim (Israel’s immigrants to the US) back to Israel
The British MSM tends to be virulently anti-Semitic, so one would do well to take this entire piece with a large grain of salt.
In so far as the ads themselves is concerned, I do not see a groundswell of secular Jews moving to Israel. Indeed, many secular Jews have made their pact with Islam and against the Jewish state. Yes, it is totally insane, but that is the reality. Secular Jews are self-hating and associate with the enemy (believing them to be friends). Secular Jews are in deep denial who their true enemies are or they have chosen the path of appeasement and think this will earn them points with the Muslim killers. Wrong, wrong, wrong.
If Islam is triumphant and destroys Israel, how long before the Islamists turn on the secular Jews and start murdering the enablers of Jihad? The secular enablers will be the first to die as Islam celebrates victory over the Infidels. This is bloody obvious except to secular Jews.
Maybe from "major US Jewish organisations" like ones that proudly display images of Barack Obama addressing them, but not from moi.

As an Israeli Jewish man* married to a (fortunately more observant) US Jewish woman, these ads hit us very hard.
We’ve struggeled to raise our children both Jewish and Israeli, going to Israel for their births, speaking only Hebrew at home, and like actions.
The fact my wife’s family is Hasidic has been very helpful to avoid avoid assimilation, as we have been embraced by various Jewish communities as we moved around the USA getting her medical training.
But my littlest one this year demanded a Christmas tree (a request we declines, but we are having the most lavish Channukah you’ve ever seen).
* I hold US citizenship basically by the accident of my parents’ birth. I am a sabra Israeli. But yes, I vote in the USA. Early and often.
i wish you and your family an excellent Chanukkah - chag sameach!
