Double effect. Need to put some thought into decisions on “flawed” candidates.
AUL (Americans United for Life) have written extensively on political prudence related to right to life.
Yep, other Christians are self-purging from voting which is just what the opposition would like. The Romneyites want the Christians to leave the party. And become marginalized. Self-marginalization. Not even the Amish will do that. They would scoff at the idea.
We vote our faith in recognition that, if we don’t, we do not honor Christ, and we essentially state that “it’s OK” for the sake of a political party; as if a political party holds the power over national blessing and our personal eternal destiny.
Marginalized? I’m good with that because in the end, I have to meet my Lord and Saviour, not the GOP. If Romney wants Christians out of the GOP, cool. There won’t be a GOP.
If we go down with the ship, then do it smartly with hands on the wheel, looking forward to His Kingdom. The church which Jesus Christ gave His life for has compromised too long.
We have a nation that has systematically murdered 53+ million image-bearers of God. Period.
