I found a spent 300 whisper casing at the range one day. It was a cut down and stretched out to about .302 and it was head stamped .223.

It took me hours of web searching to figure out what it was.

Well if I can’t shoot it, it sure is purty to look at.
I know it is french .308 and was made in 1971.

I don’t know how much of this you can see without logging in. Gun Tests is a great magazine though. There is zero advertising, just facts.

Aw rats, I missed that. I was searching for the Whisper.

It looks like Model 1 has the 300 blackout upper for $370.

No Whisper however.

It was also issued in Belgium.

I do have a French MAS 49/56 that is chambered for .308 that I have never fired. *it was dropped once, never fired*

At the very least it will add to that rifle as a collectable.
