I don’t think he is either. I was making a point. So many people here believe he is and the then there goes Cain supporting him. Amazing. Newt is my second choice after Perry. I reallly like him.

(Out with Barry in with Perry. Perry is our energy candidate!)

I'm with you guys. Unfortunately, there are a whole lot of freepers who disagree. That's okay. Gingrich himself says welcome to any and all attackers from all quadrants of the galaxy. He's ready, willing and able to make his case. I also think (IMHO) that he is more capable of not only whuppin' up on the opposition during the campaign AND in staying out of reach of the jackals no doubt already lying in ambush all over the Hill, after he takes office. In THIS climate we need a deadly old Lobo to use his experience as Speaker of the House to avoid the pitfalls and traps awaiting any Republican President. I'm sorry, But I just don't think ANY of the other candidates are up for that. Yeah Newts an "insider" but right now, we need that. Give the #2 spot to Bachmann, Perry or even Cain. That will set them up to truly take command when Newt steps out of the picture.
