BP on Monday accused Halliburton of destroying potentially damaging internal test results that showed that the cement it used to secure the Macondo well that blew out in the Gulf of Mexico last year was unstable.

Remember that also.
The BOP failed long before that.
Nope I’m 100% correct.
You’re right, of course. It failed which led to the fire which led to the platform capsizing and the pipe collapsing. My mistake.
Bush, Cheney, Haliburton!
You are 100% incorrect.
The falsehood that you are promoting has been discredited long ago.
Discredited by who? Had the BOP operated as designed it would have shut in the well but it failed to shear the tubing allowing the well to blow back. When they saw the pressure build they hit the BOP it failed and from that point on it was out of control. You do know how a BOP works don’t you?
Thats right, had the BOP closed there would have been no fire or a collapse, it would have sheared the tubing and shut the well in before that could have happen.
You obviously have not read the reports and do not know why the blowout preventer was eliminated as a cause of the spill.
Actually I have and they all go back to the BOP not operateing properly.
On 20 March 2011, DNV presented their report to the US Department of Energy[16]. Their primary conclusion was that the rams failed to shear through the oil pipe and seal it because it has buckled out of the line of action of the rams. They did not suggest any failure of actuation as would be caused by faulty batteries.
This from a report to the US Department of energy.
You can argue all you want but had the rams sheared and close as designed sealing the well, there would have been no spill.
