DoJ lied about Fast and Furious in letter to Congress
Aerican Thinker ^ | 12-6-011 | Thmas Lifsn

The Fast and Furious Scandal gets worse for AG Eric Holder and his Department of Justice. The Watergate adage that it is not the crime, it's the cover-up that matters comes to mind, with the reservation that the crime in F&F -- supplying thousands of sophisticated firearms to a drug cartel -- dwarfs a third rate burglary in gravity. Hundreds of Mexicans have been slaughtered, and two US sworn agents murdered.

The fact that the Department of Justice has now acknowledged that it has lied to Congress, covering up its involvement, should make this a headline-grabber of a case, dominating the news. But because the incumbent president is a Democrat, the mainstream media is yawning and pretending that serious crimes have not been committed by senior law enforcement officials, and that the carnage of Mexican and American victims matters not a whit.

So the DOJ sends a known false letter to congress, then when it’s exposed as lies they can simply craft another letter to “take back” the first letter...?? A big “never mind”! And the MSM is silent/complicit? Or more accurately an accomplice.

As Sheriff Bufort T. Justice once said, “What we’re dealing with here is a complete and total lack of respect for the law”.

This is from "The American Thinker" and the author is Thomas Lifson. Some glitches around here lately.

Anyway, how long can the DOJ and complicit media suppress this travesty? It would behoove an intrepid GOP candidate to boldly propound on it beginning... about... a month ago.

Think we could skate away like that on erroneous/false tax return we later regret sending? Different standards when you enjoy special standing. Kinda like insider trading perks for politicos. Throw them out and start over.

Weird. If We lie to Congress, we go to jail for long periods of time.

*Why have none of these PROVEN liars gone to jail yet?

*Rhetorical.

Wanna know what’s really sad Dysart? This is a MONSTER scandal. It reaches all the way to the top. From all the statements from Dems before this broke about how the violence in MX was all the fault of America’s gun laws, to Obama’s statement that they had some covert gun law ops ongoing. To the emails from DOJ blaming America’s gun laws and the NRA. And let’s not forget that Border Patrol makes there Agents shoot back with BEANBAGS!!!! GRRRR... It’s obvious that this was a plan hatched to blame America and attack the 2nd amendment. Remember the news stories trying to trace captured guns back to US markets. They WANTED US guns down there. This was there plan. It blew up in there face and they’ve been running for cover ever since. All true Americans should be marching on DC, pitchforks in hand, demanding heads.
AND YOU AND I ARE THE ONLY ONES EVEN ON THIS THREAD!!!! ARRRRGHHH.

OK so assume that Holder and his cronies did, in fact, lie to Congress about Fast & Furious. What is Congress going to do, arrest Holder? Or are they going to demand that Holder arrest himself? Who has the power to arrest and try a criminal case here?

I’m not a lawyer but Congress obviously has investigarive power and it may be a special counsel has prosecutorial powers. Hopefully a legal beagle will come along and clarify for us.

” Wanna know what’s really sad Dysart? This is a MONSTER scandal. It reaches all the way to the top....”

They supplied
They denied
They lied
He ( Holder) refused to apologize for a year.
and ,.. then they SEALED the record , and LameStream media say nothing about it.

Sure they wanted (trackable serial numbers)American guns down there , and the fact that 2 US agents have been killed with these FEDERAL SUBSIDIZED weapons, not to mention over 300 Mexican victims. They wanted to demonstrate for the purpose of additional regulation of American’s 2nd Amendment rights.

Now we read that the FED is money-laundering cartel drug money to study(?) how its done , and where its going ... and still this isn’t drawing any media attention . You have to be kidding me !

Do you wanna bet that some of this (FED controlled) money is going into a certain re-election campaign ?

Remember: If it wasn’t for the whistleblowers , we would have never had learned about “Fast and Furious” program at all !!

“...Who has the power to arrest and try a criminal case here?”

That’s a good question, because ,as a country, we have never had to deal with such a national corrupt administration.

Given the fact that it would normally be investigated by the DOJ , but the DOJ is also the perpatrator , there is no current provision for prosecution . It would have to be prosecuted by someone who is above reproach , and is above the body of politics involved.

No rhyme or reason to thread popularity here. I like a bit of whimsy as the next guy, maybe most, but this story is a bit of a pet topic for me because I think it implies a much deeper crisis of govt beyond what it already a deadly, sober story of corruption and subversion.

It's not weird at all. Just business as usual in a Banana Republic.

So the Obama administration is ensuring that guns make it in to the Mexican drug cartels hands and they are laundering drug money for these cartels.

The Mexican government should be wondering if the Obama administration is not running a proxy war to topple the lawful government of Mexico.

Those are both established as fact, I believe. Also, it is clear that the top official (Holder) perjured himself in his testimony to Congress and his office submitted a deceptive written account of the operation for which they now wish a "do-over," since they've been caught disseminating untruths and all.

The Mexican government should be wondering if the Obama administration is not running a proxy war to topple the lawful government of Mexico.

Well, I'm afraid this administration views the cartel as a more useful ally.

Probably generous campaign contributors as well.

Include the Crankle’s State Dept. as shipping 20,000 more heavy weapons to arm the Narco-fascist Mexican state. Wonder when they start the insurrection on this side of the border.
Where are the mighty Republicans?
