I asked a law professor how he decided how much to sue for. He said, “You type one of the non-zero numbers. Then you sit a secretary down and she keeps her finger pressed on the zero until she passes out or you run out of paper.”

I remember a time here in Western Pennsylvania where any foreign car maker who came before a jury on something like this would have gotten hit for triple damages.

If the feds regulate virtually every business why not tell the legal profession that they can’t charge more than 5% of settlements? Loser pays would also be a great step forward to reducing the number of phony or nuisance lawsuits.
