Yea. McCain is winning again. Oh... That’s Gingrich. It’s hard to tell the difference.

McCain refused to criticize Obama.

Gingrich doesn’t have that problem.

That’s one difference right there.

And Gingrich has actually balanced a federal budget before and cut entitlement spending.

:)

I wish we could hurry this process a bit so Willard can start his 2016 campaign.

Dude’s been running since 2000. Surely he’s smart enough to get the message after campaigning nearly a dozen years and spending untold millions to poll as low as he does.

That's a VERY big "one" indeed.

As much as I earlier had liked Cain or even Perry, no one has consistently criticized Obama and the rotten media as much as Newt. It would be nice if some of the others would do so.

We’ll see. Gingrich and Romney are virtually identical in my book no as well. Gingrich=Romney=McCain=Dole They are all pretty much the same. I admire musch about every one of them but they are all flawed deeply philosophically.

I’ll take Bachman, Santorum or Perry.

Hell, I would draft Donald Trump in a heart beat now.

We are headed for 1996 all over again right now.

I didn’t forget to comment on Ru Pau, I am only discussing Republicans and those who at least TRY to be conservatives.

And McCain said we do not need to be afraid of Obama, while Newt said he is destroying America, but besides that they’re exactly the same!!!!!!!!

I don't vote till June.

I doesn't look like any of these folks will still be in the contest at that point.

Yep Besides that,
They both surrender on CO2.
They both surrender on health-care forced mandates... (sorry McCain is more conservative than Gingrich on this one.)
They both equivocate on immigration enforcement (Yea, I know Perry does too.)
They are both big government republicans.
But besides these things and a long long list of identicals, they are entirely different.

Welcome to 1996.

The "Sky is falling" mentality exhibited by some FReepers is underwhelming.

Sheese, get a grip.
With the speed of the internet things can change in a nanosecond.
I refuse to let the libs tell me who’s worthy. They are playing the fair-weather conservatives like a violin.
With one sound byte or one incident or “crisis” all of the cards in the political deck get shuffled.
Newt has been a “man for all seasons”, I currently like this Newt.
Perry has a good and bad track record.
Romney is the “chosen” one and a New England enigma.
Bachman has passion galore.
Paul has brilliant moments of lucidity.
We’ve got a lot of talent here, but a lot of people have bought into the premise that the diverse candidates are a negative?

Let see what the “American Spring” sprouts and stop calling the election today.

anyone verify this?

In a thumbnail, Congress accepted the committee report, which found that Gingrich used tax exempt contributions for political purposes and then attempted to mislead the Ethics Committee about it. Pelosi sat on the Ethics Committee at the time, so has vivid knowledge of the whole business.

Gingrich, while not exactly my first choice (or my second), is head and shoulders above McCain or Romney.

Probably more conservative than W — certainly more fiscally conservative.

So a marked improvement.

Not seeing it that way..Gingrich is way better thinking on his feet, defending his positions, attacking the other guys weaknesses, and formulating strategy and policy than any of those other lightweights you mentioned. I don’t care much about their answers on immigration or cap and trade or whatever issue, because none of them do what they say anyway. We need someone who can put Obama on the defensive for once...

Agree with your analysis. Nancy, by opening up 20y old charges has in effect opened the playbook. Pay back is a bitch...a real bitch!

I too don't understand this thing with Mitt, 23%, running since 2000.

People talk about the ego of such-and-such candidate, but no one comments on the ego Mitt must have in order to think he is going to, much less deserves to win, when he can only get 23% of the polling support, after running FOREVER.

I could never do that. If only 1 in 4 or 5 people wanted to vote for me, I believe I would listen to the will of the people and give it up. But not the Mittster... he's still avoiding interviews, avoiding answering questions, avoiding making any mistakes, and banking on being the last man standing.

I just don't get it.

mcpain thought that since he was the "maverick" the press was his friend, Newt is under no delusion.

Since mcpain lost, and went back to being the thorn in the side of conservatives, the press now treats him as the "elder statesman", but it's only when they want to use him or his fat, dumb daughter.
